Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Great place, vibe, owners. I accidentally bombed the owner and he didn’t kick me out. Pool bomb not Irish bomb. Best location on Gili’s for snorkeling right out front.

People, accommodation & staff. Place to be for a chilled vibe & to meet new friends. Prices are fair, aircon ist working good. Check out next level scuba, when you are at TT. It is definitely worth it, to have a dive.

Such a nice hostel and great location at the beach. The vibe is nice and the pool was cute. They organise something every night to socialise ☺️ The room was exceptional and a very comfortable bed.

Room and common spaces are a little cramped. Breakfast was slow and limited, but more than good enough.
Comfortable bed, good air con, lovely semi-outdoor bathroom, nice pool. Excellent location for snorkelling.

Space in the room could be small if everyone has huge bags, but that’s normal to expect. It’s still reasonable!
Aircon was great, rooms were good and the activities they have were great. Get a bicycle and have fun on Gili Air!

Loved the pool, the breakfast, the modern and comfortable room, the aircon , the staff and the location : right near beach bars and restaurants and easy to rent a bike from nearby.

That I had to leave :( It was a little far from the harbour so I would get a horse if you have lots of bags or heavy backpack
such comfy beds and really lovely staff. It felt like home.

- The Wi-Fi didn’t work in my room and was intermittent around the rest of the property - need boosters - The showers spray all over - please replace the shower heads. I also had the water completely stop in the middle of a shower, which was annoying
- The staff are so friendly and helpful - I enjoyed the pancakes and fruit for breakfast - Nice bar and seating area outside - Curtains around the beds, although mine was missing one, so one end was open to everyone - Plug socket and large locker for each bed - Very hot shower, which made a nice change

The stuff was really nice and friendly. They helped me in the middle of the night when my keycard didn't work. They are always ready to talk and do some jokes. They also had nice activities to join!

No curtains in beds.
The location is perfect. Good price and value. Lauren was great but some staff were a little inattentive. No curtains for the beds. Would have preferred a private room. Overall a good value.

Really great chilled vibe! The communal area outside with the pool is a great spot to chat to people but also to chill on the hammocks! Everyone was so friendly and supportive especially being a first time solo traveller. Great activities to take part in but also a chilled vibe and you can get a quiet early night sleep. Made some lovely friends. Great cleanliness and super helpful friendly staff.

We stayed in the family bungalow with our 2 young kids. It was clean, spacious, comfy and just a few steps away from the beach. Our kids loved the pool with its diving platform and waffles for breakfast. We rode bikes around the island and feel that this was one of the better spots to stay. It was quiet but also had a good vibe with some good restaurants and cafes within walking/riding distance. You can snorkel right out the front where you might see the biggest turtle you've ever seen. The people and staff are really nice, friendly and helpful, and there is no haggling which we found on the other islands. Gili Air is great, it's a good mix whether you want to go for a night out or chill out by the beach. With plenty of chillout bars, cafes, and restaurants but also the option for some karaoke, live music, and even pub crawls. It's definitely our favorite island of the 3.

Would be nice to have diversity in the breakfast, since we get the same everyday. At least 2 things we could chose from, one sweet and one more healthy.
The location is great, just by the sea and surrounded by nice restaurants and cafes. The staff is super friendly and everything is quite clean.

I have stayed at a few places on the island, all nice but the atmosphere at tipsea is something that's hard to replicate. Whether you're looking to party or some peace & quiet, tipsea turtle is the place to be. The staff is super friendly and the owner Kyle is very classy and wise beyond his years. I learnt so much about so many things by interacting with him. Thank you Kyle :)

The vibe. The staff is really really nice. Nice to have beers at the bar, loved the breakfast (waffles with fruit and a coffee). The swimming pool is really nice and the private room was nice as well. Completely free from bugs and other animals, and proper AC. Would definitely recommend this place!

The family dinners were really nice and good for socializing. The rooms were chill, big and nice shower. The hostel organizes activities during the day. If you want to have a good time and meet lots of nice new people, this is the place.
