Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaA couple of minor things, but we are nitpicking here: - the small room safe was not bolted down and someone could easily tuck it under their arm and walk out with it. - the bed and pillows could have been a bit more comfortable; they were both a little firm.
My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Aura ( our first stay there), in a Superior Double Room. As others have said, the hotel is situated about 300 metres down a single car laneway (a little rough in spots), off the main road; look out for the hotel sign up high above the one for Sally’s restaurant. It is a peaceful oasis, with very little, if any, traffic noise, a lovely albeit cool and reasonably deep pool (no kids area), beautiful gardens and pond (with fish), and an open dining area. Our room was up a flight of stairs, on the first floor. It was beautifully furnished, had a nice hot shower, and a canopy bed. Although it didn’t have a balcony, it shared a large glassed in area with other rooms on the level, which had a table, lounge and library. Breakfast, included in our room rate, was a la carte, and served in the dining area down by the pool. There were about 6 options to choose from, all the ones we tried being really tasty and well presented. You could also help yourself to a selection of fruits, a couple of different fruit drinks, and coffee or tea. Free afternoon tea was also available each day, but nothing to really write home about. We were fortunate too to be given a free 15 minute foot massage at the on site spa. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aura, and will definitely have it at the top of our list next time we are in Ubud. Location wise, it is perfect, a short walk to the large Coco supermarket, 10 mins or so walk to Monkey Forest, and with many restaurants nearby. The “Yoga Barn” is also next door and is a must visit to check out the incredible buildings and gardens, even if you are not into yoga. A big call out too to all staff at the Aura for their friendliness and help. A couple of minor things, but we are nitpicking are: - the small room safe was not bolted down and someone could easily tuck it under their arm and walk out with it. - the bed and pillows could have been a bit more comfortable; they were both a little firm.

United KingdomPerhaps a silly thing, but lattes and cappuccinos are not included in the breakfast, you have to pay extra. And I did, every day, because the filtered coffee was pretty average
Nice resort, very chilled. The carp in the water was a nice touch. Surprisingly close to the centre, considering it is so quiet. Right beside the Yoga Barn. Nice place to centre yourself while in Ubud.

Its location is back from a busy road but so peaceful and relaxing. All of the staff are so friendly and kind. Sitting outside your room or by the pool is very relaxing. The spa is also wonderful to treat yourself and enjoy a lovely massage. Its location right next to yoga barn is also wonderful and very convenient.

IndiaThe breakfast starts at 8am which is rather late. Despite repeated requests for an early bfast box we were told that it wasn't possible. But the next morning a group of European guests got their bfast at 7:30am. Not sure why we were not offered the same.
Nice serene spot and close enough to all the main points. Staff was warm and the atmosphere was very welcoming

United StatesThere was a booking admin mixup which meant I had to change rooms half way through my stay which was annoying though the staff did their best to help. The hotel was a little difficult to find being down a narrow walkway that was not accessible by ordinary vehicle.
So happy we stayed here, so easy to explore Ubud on foot from the retreat and not have to deal with the traffic gridlock. The entire hotel is beautiful, from the open air reception to the carved doors and window of my room. Yoga Barn is next door with a huge variety of classes, events etc. We were sorry to leave.

Australia1) I think breakfast starting at 8:00am is a bit late. I would expect at least 7:00am. 2) Just one thing happened at the very end of my stay at Aura Retreat that disappointed me. Seems like when I washed my hair, the red dye stained the white towels. Anyway, at check-out, the staff brought the stained towel to the front desk and showed it to me in front of other staff and guests, which was very embarrassing. They asked me to pay 10$ for the "ruined" towel, and of course I did, but I felt the way they handled the situation was unprofessional and humiliating. It was disappointing because I otherwise loved my stay at Aura Retreat.
I overall loved my stay at Aura Retreat. The staff was very nice and the room clean with a lovely view. The staff was very helpful and kindly accommodating all my requests (early check in; early breakfast at 7:30am because I had a walk tour at 8:00am).

GermanyThere is a nice area to practice yoga above the spa. The yoga mats were not very clean. It would be good to have them cleaned regularly or keep a cleaning spray next to them for the guests to use.
Our stay was lovely and the property is beautiful. We especially enjoyed the pool and the breakfast. The inhouse spa is also nice and the staff has good massage techniques. The hotel is in a small street off the main road of Ubud town which helps to be away from all the noise and activity.

United StatesThe WiFi, especially in rooms on the 2nd floor, is not great. 2 of our 3 rooms (including a “Suite”) were considerably more dated / older as the 3rd room we booked, which was only a “Studio”. The property needs to finish updating / renovating all the rooms to have a consistent quality and look/feel. The laundry prices are also crazy expensive. They charge by piece and not by Kilo; recommend finding other places to do laundry.
Great location, solid breakfast, and very helpful staff. They helped to organize transportation and tours. Some of the rooms are updated and are very modern. Beautiful swimming pool, and good value accommodations all-around.

The room was beautiful - especially with the floor to ceiling netting. Breakfast options were delicious and I like that it's all made to order vs a buffet. The pool is refreshing after a long day out!

They were even kind enough to offer me a free upgrade and if there's one thing you shouldn't miss it is they're delicious breakfasts. The area is very well located, while still staying quiet and peaceful.
