We absolutely adored our stay at Uma Kalai. Its such a beautiful place to stay and the staff made you feel so special, especially Eka the concierge and Gusti and Dickie and Adi the butlers. We were so sad to leave. We especially loved our room with our heated pool and steam shower. They cleaned and prepared our room twice a day and we had delicious breakfast included. Highly recommend and will look forward to booking there again. The location is away from the hustle bustle of Ubud centre, which we liked. And the view of the rice fields was so special its hard to describe. Yoga in the morning overlooking that view was a truly magical experience as was our whole stay at the sweetest Uma Kalai.

Absolutely stunning. Photos of that view do not do it justice. We got the villa with the heated pool and it was perfect. Food was amazing. Staff amazing. Highly recommend. Nice and quite as only 6 villas in total. Even had the main pool to ourselves. Will come back again.

The view was sensational. The room extremely spacious and beautifully decorated. The lounge, dinning and pool terrace exceeded expectations. The service was second to none with friendly, helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble from start to finish. I highly recommend this place for anyone choosing luxury and relaxation yet within minutes by car to the centre of ubud. Thank you 🙏 I will definitely be back

The gardens are impeccable with amazing attention to detail. The location was wonderful as we weren't over populated by tourists 🙏 and the jungle is amazing with beautiful scenery.

On my trip around the world, I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Uma Kalai and was thoroughly impressed by every aspect of my experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warm and attentive staff, setting the tone for a truly remarkable stay. Our suite itself was stunning. Spacious, elegantly furnished, and impeccably clean, it felt like a luxurious home away from home. Perhaps most impressive, however, was the impeccable service provided by the staff throughout my stay. From the manager Eka to the two butlers Ade and Dicky to our driver Rana who went above and beyond to accommodate our various requests to the housekeeping team who ensured that our room was always pristine, every member of the staff was dedicated to ensuring that my stay was nothing short of perfect. We also indulged in a relaxing spa treatment at the hotel's spa. This was the reason why we decided to extend our stay twice at the Uma Kalai.

This is the BEST accommodation! It is better than we could have ever imagined (even after reading all the positive reviews online). The accommodation itself is stunning. Our place was very spacious (we booked the Earth room which had its own private jacuzzi, a living room separate from the bedroom which was great for lounging in and eating in, a steam room and an outdoor tub) and beautifully furnished. Our bed was super comfortable, the room was extremely clean, and everything inside felt new. The facilities are incredible. There is a gorgeous pool that overlooks a beautiful ride terrace. The photos do not do it justice! There are more than enough chairs and seats for everyone to lay down and relax. There is also a well furnished gym (lots of equipment that can accomodate any work out including cardio, weights, reformer pilates) and a beautiful spa that is super relaxing. There is also a beautiful dining area where you can enjoy food and drinks made by the team. The chefs were amazing - we could not get enough of the food!!! There is a great range of local and international dishes, and a lovely range of drinks on offer. Uma Kalai can also arrange lots of private tours - they’ve got something for everyone including a sunrise hike up Mount Batur, a guided trip to the rice fields, a jungle trek, a visit to a water temple or the monkey forest etc … they make it super easy for you to plan your trip. Last but definitely not least, the staff are world class. The entire team provided stellar service and made a special effort to connect with us and remember our food/drink preferences which we thought was so special. We loved hearing all about their lives and learning about the culture and life in Bali.

Uma Kalai is heaven on earth! One of the most serene and picturesque locations I've been to, overlooking huge paddy fields. The villas are extremely well-appointed and luxurious, and all facets to ensure an extremely comfortable stay have been well thought through. The spa services were very good, we treated ourselves to multiple massages as the masseuses were excellent. Additionally, the food is amazing and the staff and cooks are extremely flexible to your dietary preferences. Gluten-free and milk alternatives are easily delivered - I was pleasantly surprised! Easily the icing on the cake was the staff, simply the most pleasant, hospitable, welcoming, and knowledgeable staff I've seen in a while - THANK YOU Dicky, EKA and Gusti, and many others who worked behind the scenes to make our stay memorable. Wow! If I could rate this a 20/10 stay then I would. I don’t even know where to start! This property is the best place I have ever stayed. The vibe and staff made it feel like home the personal experience from all the staff is unbelievable. The food is outstanding, the spa treatments and massages on offer were out of this world. I just want to thank the whole staff at Uma Kalai who made nothing feel like it was too much to ask and a special thanks to Rana, Dicky and Gusti who helped us throughout our stay. The staff even made a group chat that we could communicate anything we needed during the stay. The Bhumi Villa we stayed in even had a personal steamroom and private pool which was perfect for our honeymoon. My wife and I were so sad that we had to eventually leave. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Ubud - absolutely amazing place.

Construction was in progress on the property next to the resort. It was not unbearable for us but may not be for everyone.

The small intimate resort felt like we had the resort all to ourselves. The staff was so friendly and felt like family. The room had a very traditional decor and architecture but all the amenities of an upscale resort.

Almost everything. The only thing that was unclear is the food menu. However, if you request something out of the menu they definitely will not mind it and you’ll have as you describe it. Stuff, all and everyone of them is super respectful, kind and willing to help. Rana is the best driver and literally a person who you can enjoy with.

Highest level of hospitality. Gusti and Puspita raised the bar. They were extremely responsive, available 24*7 for all yours needs. The staff is very warm and welcoming and they attend to each of your needs proactively and with a smile. My Wife’s birthday was 3 days after we check out. They still decorated the room and the chef got us a cake and the whole staff came to wish her birthday. He Property is also extremely well maintained. Rice terrace views are great. The private heated pool and steam bath was a bonus. Luxury redefined. Would highly recommend this.

Everything was perfect. Staff is so amazing, they make you feel like you are their most important guest. All of them are kind, helpfull, they helped us discover Bali like we never thought we could. They helped us with everything, took care of us, made our stay there amazing. Me and my husband travel a lot but never felt like this in any location we ever booked. Many thanks to Rana who was our driver, guide and friend, he made our holiday extra special, he even invited us to his temple to assist a ceremony - unique experience, we were so lucky to have the possibility to go there and get to understand better the balinese culture. The property is amazing, we stayed in Bhumi villa. Cleaning was done 2-3 times a day. The bed was extra comfortable, the smell in the room is amazing, you feel like you live in a spa😆, they provide basket of fresh fruits daily, coffee for the nesspreso machine, towels everyday. Food is super delicious and the the view from the restaurant is amazing The massage was the best…so sorry we didn’t go to the spa every day😆. This place is heaven on earth and we are so sorry we had to check out. Leaving this perfect place made us so sad and emotional…we’ll definitely go back there. Many thanks to Eka and the entire team, you were all so amazing! Words can’t describe this experience!
