Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nitpicking: the pool isn't conducive to dipping in for me as a woman, it's right in the centre of the complex. However it does make for a fresh water feature, and it was awesome hearing and seeing the rain drop into the pool.
As a budget option in Sanur, Umar Bagus is exceptional. Excellent hosting and service run by Yani and her family, makes it feel like a home away from home, where you can feel connected and have your privacy and alone time whenever you want it. This is important for me as a solo traveller. The rooms are light bright, modern and airy, excellent a/c, very comfortable beds, excellent WIFI (depending on the health of the general network, as it can be intermittent in Indonesia), and wonderfully close to the tourist enclave and ferry terminal. Filtered cold water is available to refill your drink bottle, as well as coffee, tea and cooking facilities. And did I mention the dogs. The family adopt strays, and it's so lovely to witness abandoned animals have a new healthy loving lease of life. Adorable. Highly recommend.

Umah Bagus was the perfect location for us catching a morning boat and Yani was extremely friendly and helpful! The room was clean with a very comfortable bed for a great nights sleep.

Honestly cannot think of anything. I think it's ridiculous that some people complain about the busy road they had to cross in the reviews. You can cross that road if you want to take a shortcut to the harbour, otherwise walk on to the actual crosswalk with traffic lights to cross it...! Also, the hotel is not next to the road, so it's very quiet.
I booked this hotel very last minute (on the day itself) and still, everything was organized so well for us! The host provided us with transport from the airport, a stip at the ATM, and she waited for us for a late check-in. The room itself is so good for this price, the bed is big and comfortable and the aircon works well. Just a 10 minute walk from the harbour where we took the boat the next day.

Alley to the accommodation is quite narrow and dark - some taxi struggle to get in or to U-turn out but the accommodation allows their gate to be open for the car to have more space. Alley could also be quite dark with stray dogs present/barking so might not be ideal with solo traveller on foot at night.
Very helpful staff with information about boat trips and things to do around the area. Location close to harbour. A table in the room with kitchen sink available so if the bathroom is occupied there is still a hand washing facility outside.

Nothing not to like- follow a locals lead when crossing busy main road or turn right and walk two minutes to set of traffic lights
Located in a quiet back street but only about 6 minutes walk to the harbour and beach and various restaurants,bars,shops etc.Nice and quiet at night and huge bed.The owner is a really friendly lady that is always laughing and let us check in when we got there mid morning.There is a shared kitchen and lounge area and small pool which is great for cooling off in

Nothing, everything was fine.
The location was perfect if you want to go to sanur harbour quickly. I had everything I needed in the room, and for this price, it’s worth it. Yani was such a nice lady. She always gave answers in a short time and was very helpful. And, thank you for letting me leave my big luggage there while i was at Nusa Penida and can’t check out on time.

Amazing value for the price! I did not have IDR on hand to pay at check-in but Yani was kind enough to let me pay at checkout and recommended a reputable money changer just a 10 minute walk from the property. Room was super clean and had everything I needed for a great stay. AC, wifi, and hot water all worked well. Bed and pillows were very comfortable!
