Where do we start! If you’re yearning for a serene sanctuary away from the bustling crowds of Bali's south shore, look no further than Hidden Heaven Rumah Barong. From the moment we stepped foot into Rumah Barong, we were warmly welcomed by André, our gracious host. His hospitality set the tone for our stay—genuine, friendly, and comfortably familiar. André’s passion for cooking is truly remarkable, as he skillfully crafts each dish with love and precision. Every meal was a delightful culinary journey, showcasing local flavors that made us feel intimately connected to the region. His insightful guidance helped us explore off-the-beaten-path cultural sites, steering us clear of the typical tourist traps. The highlight was certainly the tour of the local markets, a vibrant experience that allowed us to immerse ourselves in the local culture. The natural beauty surrounding Rumah Barong is nothing short of breathtaking. A short stroll from the property led us to a quiet, beach. The manicured gardens and inviting pool further enhanced our experience, creating an oasis where we could unwind and enjoy the tranquility. During our stay, we took full advantage of the yoga platform, embracing the opportunity to connect with ourselves and nature. We also enjoyed a unique excursion to a local chocolate factory, enhancing our immersive experience of the region's delights. In summary, Hidden Heaven Rumah Barong delivered an unforgettable retreat. The combination of André's warm hospitality, delicious food, and the tranquil surroundings created a perfect escape from the chaos of daily life. We are already dreaming of our return visit to experience more of André's exquisite dishes, share stories, and bask in the stunning serenity once again.

We loved it all! What a wonderful place to spend time. The surrounding nature, sound of the trees and the ocean on the doorstep were miles away from the hustle of busy areas. Andre and Kai are incredible hosts, such a warm welcome to Jasri. We feel lucky to have found it and them, an extra special part in our time in Bali.

Not so much not to like, just that it was a bit of a hike into Jasri village via an unlit dirt road, for convenience store, warong etc. Nothing that a scooter cannot solve.

Beautiful hideaway, quiet and exclusive. Very private as there is only one room. Andre was an excellent host and great cook. Having dinner with Andre was something to look forward to. And his two dogs added to the warm welcome (his cat was a bit more distant).

Andre, our entirely delightful host, made us so welcome to fully enjoy the tranquil oasis he has created. We felt blessed to share this experience, and indeed, share Andre’s dinner table and quite wonderful cooking, and charming company. He went to a lot of trouble to cater to me and did so very graciously, I appreciated that so much. A wonderful surprise for us was a magical view of Mt Agung from a special vantage point. Cannot recommend Hidden Heaven or Andre more highly.

In case you do not ride a scooter and you want to stay just in the area- the options where to go for a lunch/dinner are very limited.

I can not recommend the place enough! It is truly a hidden heaven. I felt very welcomed and well looked after by Andre and his team. It is a beautiful property surrounded by a jungle and only few minutes walk away from beach. You will get exceptional breakfast every morning and homemade freshly cooked dinner by chef Andre if your heart desires.

We had a great stay, the property was beautiful and the dinner we had was amazing!! Andrea organized a scooter to be ready for us for our arrival and a transfer to our next destination (it was election day so no one was working) I would highly recommend staying here! Plus the dogs were the best!

imagine a place where the natural beauty is so poignant that you never want to leave? I appreciated having at least two nights there, but I should have stayed even longer! Not only is André a caring and very endearing host (and a good cook) but the region, around the house, is full of beautiful views, walks and discoveries, which you can discover on foot. It's one of the rare places in Bali where you can go for a walk on the paths, and walk around in the nearest rice fields or small villages, departing from your chalet bungalow. The swimming pool is divine and the garden, with its tropical sounds and smells, is a haven of peace. I particularly appreciated the small perched and private space with floor mat, to practice my yoga in the morning. A place you can't forget!

Having your own mode of transport is very helpful as local shops or eateries are not really in easy walking distance.

Andre was a fabulous host of a beautiful property. Andre was happy to organise motor bike rental and massage, give suggestions of places to visit, and cooked us wonderful food. We loved our time here relaxing by the pool, taking local trips on the motor bike, walking to the local beach and through the rice fields. A quiet and restful holiday.

The host was exceptional, always ready to help, giving advice and a very good cook :) The location was amazing, a real hidden heaven ! The decoration was very well done, the house staff was lovely, and the valet service was perfect: we had a driver for our tours and to take us to Lovina, with a good level of English and ideal driving quality.

- Andre, probably the most peculiar host we’ve ever met. It was great spending time with him and being his guests. - The house is simply gorgeous, as are the garden and the pool. A great place to relax. It is located just next to the ocean and you can chill in the garden while listening to the waves sound. - staying in a one-room only home stay is something peculiar. It was a tremendous experience.

The location is just a short walk to Jasri beach and there are a couple of cafes/warungs nearby. You will need transport to travel to shops/restaurants, we hired a scooter.

Andre’s property is very peaceful, the gardens are beautiful and the pool is very nice as a place to relax and cool off. The accommodation is charming.

Fantastic place to stay - really interesting location, a bit of the beaten track but still plenty to do and see. Andre was a wonderful host and chef- the food (and wine) was absolutely wonderful. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We loved everything about our stay!! The room is traditional style, with a lovely sitting area undercover and an outside deck. I used the yoga platform every day with the mat provided. The garden & pool are beautifully maintained and so lush. It is a salt water pool, which is so much better to swim in. The host Andre, is so friendly and welcoming that we felt quite at home during our stay. The meals he cooked us, breakfast daily and 3 dinners, were some of the best meals we have ever eaten in Bali. All from fresh local ingredients. The dogs need a mention too, super friendly and joined us on our walks. A wonderful relaxing 6 days. Thank you Andre 🙏

Be aware that if you’re new on the motorbike, the access road is muddy in the rainy season. Take it slowly, and you’ll be fine!

Your host, Andre, and his staff do all they can to offer an extraordinary experience. In fact there is only one bungalow for guests, which means that the grounds and pool are at your entire disposition. Tastefully decorated, the guest bungalow and main house are little museums offering insight into Andrés travels through Europe, Africa, and Asia. André is eager to share his stories from his private kitchen where he prepares lunch and meals upon advanced request. An exceptional breakfast is included in the morning!

It was one of the best accommodations I've ever stayed in. I was satisfied with everything, I felt that the special coffee and delicious dinner prepared by the host were the best treats! Interacting with the cute puppies was also healing itself, and I could feel the host's consideration and sense in every single things!!

A lot of mosquitos there. Yet nothing to be surprised of, so close by the sea...

It is amazing to be the only guest (since there is only one guest house for rent), that gives room for a lot of relaxation and tranquility. André is a great host who apparently honed his cooking skills over a long time and who is a very interesting conversational partner. I had a great time there, can give an unreserved recommendation!

Only that I couldn't stay longer!

Everything was wonderful from the landscaped garden, to the meticulously clean salt swimming pool, to the lovely private villa with its outdoor living spaces and gorgeous bathroom. 5 min walk to the ocean and a couple of great warungs on the beach. But the best thing was Andre the host. So helpful, thoughtful and an amazing cook. Couldn't ask for more.
