We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United StatesThat tourist may just come for instagram photo op, and forget to really appreciate the quietness, beauty, and nature in this amazing place.
It’s one of the most beautiful locations in Bali. The staff are the most kind and welcoming. They always have a smile and are so accommodating. I love that they are so proud of their culture. One of the reasons we travel here is for the kind people, culture, and the beautiful natural setting.

United KingdomI would have liked some small trails into the forest to explore.
A fantastic lodge with great food and friendly, helpful staff. Nicely off the beaten track with wildlife on the doorstep literally, including deer, monkeys and endangered bali starlings breeding within the grounds. The private reef is a nice bonus, it's full of multicoloured fish, especially around the jetty. I'd definitely come again.

Everything! The staff were lovely. They provide the best services, always very kind, helpful, smily. Food there was so delicious! We are very happy that we booked the Nusa Bay Menjangan.

United KingdomI do have to say I thought the coffee was terrible - for such a small place a 10jt espresso machine would be plenty. Drinking sludgy Bali kopi in a 3jt per night room didn't sit great. My only other thought is that lovely as everything is, it could all do with a bit of refurbishment or redecorating. Everything is highly functional, clean, freshly laundered and good quality... But has seen a good few years of use and could do with a little tlc.
Your visit to Nusabay Menjangang starts with a boat ride - the resort is completely cutoff except by sea. It's a very romantic start to things. The staff are warm, welcoming and happy to try and accommodate whatever your interests are. Primary activities are snorkeling, diving, and hiking in the National Park. I booked a private bird watching walk with Pak Nono and was very satisfied. The waters are blue and clean. Wild deer, monkeys and occasionally pigs wander through the ground - no problems with aggression but it means food can only be consumed in the restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant, it's fortunate that the cooking is very good as it's, obviously, the only option for food. A well thought out mix of western and Indonesian classics, quite healthy with flourishes of indulgence. I enjoyed every meal. Really it's like staying on a private island for a tiny fraction of the cost, so if you like idyllic tropical beaches with very few people and no machine or traffic noise beyond the air conditioners, you will have a wonderful time.

GermanyNothing, because you are already perfect ;o)
A place to come back to again and again, it has been our second time already. The Villas and their design and set-up are great, it has a feeling of safari lodges. Especially when the monkeys and deers pass by, it definitely makes you feel right there. The attention to details and guest needs in the villas is outstanding. The location is perfect for snorkeling and relaxing. The crew is absolutely friendly and helpful in any way they can, even fetching the forgotten camera from our car at the harbor. The relocated sandy beach with the daybeds and the snorkeling equipment is great, the restaurant near the coral beach with its trees under which the deers will rest during the day serves great food and drinks all day. The afternoon tea is delicious. Sunrise and dusk is quite amazing. Hiking in the natural reserve is great. And special recognition to the massage crew, those ladies do magic and are so amazing and friendly. Thanks a lot for another unforgettable stay and the fantastic restaurant and massage crew. New ZealandRooms are nice, but could do with a refresh. This didn't detract from our stay, the beds were very comfortable, good aircon, lovely hot shower. It doesn't bother us, but if you don't like insects and nature this place is not for you!
Peaceful, quiet and in nature. Amazing reef accessible from the wharf and beach, lovely golden beach, great variety of equipment available, snorkelling, kayaks, life jackets, sun loungers on beach and by the pool. Towels provided on each bed. Great variety of meals available at the restaurant and very tasty. Amazing wildlife at the resort, black monkeys, Bali starling, rusa deer on the beach, macaques, butterflies and more! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. We actually liked every thing. If you like nature, relaxing, peace and quiet this place is for you. The snorkelling was fantastic, an amazing variety of coral soft and hard from the wharf, clear water, saw snowflake eel, moray eel, lobster, titan fish, cuttlefish, an astounding array of different reef fish, juvenile and grown the amount of different species in such a small area was great. Easy snorkelling, and at times nearly no current. You can go off the wharf into a group of very friendly batfish.

AustraliaNusaBay Menjangan exceeded our expectations. It’s a hidden gem positioned for tranquility and an authentic experience of Bali’s marine and terrestrial beauty. The accommodation has been thoughtfully designed with eco-friendly touches. Our bungalow offered a seamless connection to the surrounding park, with well-maintained facilities and a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. Falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean and waking up to views of lush greenery was a treat. Not to mention the adorable black monkeys in the surrounding trees. I could have watched them all day. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and professional, always ensuring our experience was enjoyable. Snorkelling and wildlife spotting were the highlights, providing a nature hit and perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. Exploring the coral and spotting the famous Menjangan deer were cool experiences. We were blown away by the diversity of fish, even surrounding the pier was like looking into a tropical aquarium. For the somewhat isolated location of the resort, the on-site restaurant impressed with a variety of dishes, including fresh seafood and authentic Balinese cuisine. The breakfasts were delicious and dining with the view of the ocean & deers resting on the beach was a true delight. Unfortunately the infinity pool couldn’t be used due to upgrade works, but really, who needs a pool when you have the best snorkeling practically at your front door. NusaBay Menjangan is a rare gem for travelers looking to escape the tourist crowds and experience the joy of staying in a national park… without compromising on comfort. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bali, particularly those who appreciate nature & wildlife on land, and in the sea. I can’t wait to return!

FranceThe global Bali plastic problem unfortunately spoils snorkeling in rainy season. nothing that the hotel can do about it, but if all hopes are on marine exploration- better know what to expect and adjust accordingly..

United KingdomOne of the grey monkeys stole my breakfast haha but to be expected. It added to the experience, so I actually loved it!
NusaBay is a hidden gem in the West Bali National Park! It's an experience like no other, being immersed in nature with grey and black monkeys, deer and Justin the pig roaming freely on the resort! All of the staff are so kind and friendly, and will help you no matter what. I did three excursion; sunrise boat trip around Menjangan Island, Nature Village Trek and of course Snorkeling at Menjangan Island. All of them were amazing experiences but nothing compared to the last - a MUST do when in Bali! The free 30 minute massage was also incredible and much needed after swimming with turtles for 4 hours! I cannot recommend this more, I absolutely loved it here

ChinaThe gardening is too primitive and not like the vibes shown in their pictures. I understand that the hotel should have an organic way of gardening, but the gardening can be beautiful and natural at the same time. Many parts of the hotel look like being abandoned. The food there is ok, but after eating in the same restaurant for 6 days, the cuisines are too plain.
The sea is good for snorkeling, and there are many black monkeys, deer, and gray monkeys in the hotel. They are wild. All the staff are friendly and wearing smile all the time.

United KingdomNothing for me. My partner would have quite liked a bit of Bali atmospheric music of an evening to encourage the restaurant to be more of a social hub, but watching a troop of Javan langur monkeys feeding in the trees made up for it really! It should be mentioned that beach is not ideal for those wanting clear shallow water to play in as the protected coral reef starts with a rocky foreshore. Rock shoes essential
Breakfast was excellent with a large variety of choice. The location was wonderful for anyone wanting a remote somewhat rustic and wildlife orientated break. Great snorkelling to be had on the house reef with turtles and many species of unusual fish. Coral in pretty good nick. Close to Manjangen Island for a trip of even better snorkelling. Due to a minor booking error we were even upgraded to a beach front villa where the monkeys and deer visited our private sunbed area. But by far the highest award must go to the staff. ALL WITHOUT EXCEPTION were friendly and genuinely smiling at all times from the moment we arrived at the jetty to when we were waved off.

United KingdomEverything was perfect especially the unobtrusive and impeccable service
Its position is superb and it is easy to snorkel from the jetty at high tide. The room was simple but luxurious. The quality of the architecture and furniture of the rooms/villas and of the restaurant is first rate; generous and varied and of good quality and variety. Added to all this , the quality of service and the helpfulness of the staff made this an exceptional stay. So happy that there was no music to disturb the sounds of sea breaking on the beach we could fully relax in peace of the National park with only the sounds of annals and nature.
