Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe room was very nice and spacious. Everything was clean and comfortable. I had a balcony with a wonderful, stunning view of the ocean. The owner and the staff is so kind and welcoming. I felt like home here. You walk between 20-30 minutes to the centre of Amed. But you can also rent a scooter in the home stay.i would definitely recommend this place.

CanadaVery happy to have chosen this homestay. Clean and comfortable. Super friendly owners. They also run a restaurant on-site, with a good selection of western and Indonesia dishes. We had dinner every night there over our 6-night stay. Everything was delicious and the price was very good. The homestay is a complex of eight self-contained units that are built on a hillside. All of which face the sea, but the higher you go, the better the view. We had the top unit and really could not be happier with what we woke up to every morning. The location is also very good. You can access the beach through a walkway across from the homestay. It is a much quieter spot than the Amed beach and Jemeluk. We often had the beach to ourselves, but the corals - literally just off the shore - and the sea lives are just as spectacular.

CanadaThe family is super sweet. The food in the restaurant is really tasty and there is lots of choice. Breakfast included is great. They offer snorkeling gear rental for 50 000 which is much cheaper than at the beach (150 000). The in room massage is such a bonus. Don't need to go anywhere and at a very good price. The women is excellent at traditional Balinese massage. I had an ocean view and also sunrise view which is worth getting up early for. The rooms are very clean and spacious. There's even a kitchen. I highly recommend staying here.

GreeceThere was some noise every morning around 6.30am which is very early for me from kids crying or screaming. I'm not a big fan of kids, especially when they start so early.. I think that there is a Balinese family living on the top floor so I could hear also their footsteps from early morning.
I really enjoyed staying at Ary's place. I love a good sea view and my room had a beautiful sea view. The room was very clean and comfortable. They actually cleaned my room everyday. I loved hanging out in the terrace. The staff is really sweet and very helpful. The location is great far from the busy streets but close enough to drive or walk. They also rent scooters which is very convenient.

United KingdomThe only small thing that I didn’t like was that I ordered tuna in their restaurant but they brought me some other white fish and was trying to convince me it was tuna(
Stunning view from the room. Family who run the property was very friendly, they cleaned room every day, changed towels as well. I felt like I was staying in the good hotel. There is a beach nearby. Entrance to it is a bit rocky. I saw turtle there couple of times.

BulgariaIt is a very minor thing – I wish there was a working table with sitting in the common areas where I could sit on my laptop to do some planning/work.
Really friendly family – it was a pleasure to stay there for a few days. I was traveling alone and they took care of me like a family member. The room was nice and comfy, the Wi-Fi was really good so I could even do some work on my laptop. The place is very close to everything needed – Old Town, restaurants (plus vegetarian ones), markets. They provide every guest with a free bicycle. The rice fields are just around the corner, 1 min from the home stay so it was a really nice place to bike. There is also delicious home made breakfast available if you pre-order – I tried the Vietnamese banana pancake and noodles and they were both so delicious, even better than in a restaurant. Everything was fantastic!

A really lovely room, stunning view of the ocean, my own private kitchen and rooftop loungers. Most of all I am so grateful to the family who went out of their way to care for me after I had a fall. I will remember Warung Ary with great fondness.

GermanyWhat a great place. I loved my room The rooms are located kind of on a hill where you have to take the stairs to go up. The higher you go the better Ocean view you have. The rooms are big with a little patio in the front. Big bathroom. So there is plenty of space. I had everything I needed. I had my laundry done in 1 day You can rent scooters directly by the guest house, which is very convenient. Since traffic is not as terrible as in other places its easy to get around with the scooter. Ary has an own boat and he can take you out snorkelling. Prices are super reasonable. They also helped me organising a transfer which was great. Breakfast is very simple but good I would come back here and stay again.

FinlandThe breakfast was avarage and bit small, only one choice of food like omelet, pancake or fruit salad. But it is nice to get coffee and bit of snack before heading out.
Very clean room, bathroom, sheets, blankets, everything! The building isn’t new but very well maintained. The air in thecroom is dry, no sign of dampness or mould like usually in Bali. Amazing sea view from the bed. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. There’s bot ac and ceiling fan in the room but during the day we just kept the ac off and doors open for fresh and cool air. In our hut we had our own rooftop with sunbeds. Perfect for watching stars in the night and sunrise with the view of volcano in Lombok. The location is perfect as is basically in the halfway of all the places ypu probably wanna go in Amed. It is on the mainroad but still not noisy at all. Also no barking dogs or roosters around which is nice. The family running the homestay is very friendly and helpful. There’s beach access straight in front of the homestay. You can rent snorkeling gears just for 50k for all day! They are more than happy to bring you for snorkeling trips etc too. Overall our stay was great and we will be back for sure!

AustraliaI stayed at Ary Homestay for a week by myself and had such a great time. The rooms are spacious, very clean and had a comfortable big bed. The rooms are secure and well within the perimeters of the property - I felt very safe staying there alone. The rooms are private, away from the restaurant and all of them have a fantastic view of the sea. Every morning I woke up to the sunrising over the ocean, visible from my room. I woke up a couple of times at 2am and saw the moon glowing right above. It was so beautiful. The food was exceptional, fresh and inexpensive . The family were so lovely. All of them super friendly, and made me feel very welcome. Their children are so cute and well mannered. I enjoyed watching them play whenever I ventured down to the restaurant. Moped/bike hire is available, but I don't know how to ride - the family drove me every time I wanted to go somewhere. It's very close to Blue Earth Yoga, a few small shops, cafes/restaurants and massage - all within walking distance. Snorkelling can be done right across the road. They also offer driving services and tours at a very good price - but they do not put any pressure on to book these. The wifi was quite good. It worked really well most of the time. I had an amazing stay and will certainly return.

United StatesWe loved our stay here so much that we spent 8 days in the area. My partner and I were recovering from being sick and it was perfect that there was a warung 20 feet from our room with delicious food. This family took care of us and even better yet was the location and rooms. We’ve stayed at lots of places for this price and shown up where toilets are being taped together and etc. The best part yet… hot water! At this homestay everything is in great condition, and the owner has made sure each room has its own view of the ocean. We had a beautiful terrace where we could watch the sunrise each morning. Amed has become our favorite part of Bali and it is all thanks to this family.

RussiaIt would be nice if there was a cooler or bottled water. There were ants, but that's common in Bali.
We have been in many areas in Bali, and we liked this place the most of all. Very close to the beach. The beach is beautiful: clean water, a coral reef with a huge number of different fish right off the coast. Even children who are not very good at swimming will be able to see a lot. The room had a beautiful view of the ocean! The breakfast was very tasty and varied. Even staying for a long time you will not get tired of its menu. The homestay has a warung with good and affordable food without a tax. The owner is very friendly, he can help organize a transfer for an affordable price and a lot of activities. We went with him on a boat to the ocean to fishing, and it was an unforgettable experience: to see the sunrise in the ocean and feel its waves, more powerful than near the beach ... I highly recommend that if you stay here, go on a boat to the ocean. The location is quiet, there is little traffic here, there are many cafes and grocery stores nearby.
