Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Stairs up to apartment is not gated so can be dangerous for babies and toddlers. Couldn’t get the WiFi to work.
Location is good. Beds comfortable. Tv. Equipped with Everything needed.

The only downside was the electric shower, it seemed to go cold and hot at times without us touching anything but perhaps it was ‘user error’.
The property is very fresh, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.

Really central beside shops, pubs and restaurants! Great base for exploring West Donegal! Check in really smooth as we received code for key box a few days before we arrived! Apartment was spotless and beds really comfy!

There was nothing we didnt like .
Everything was spot on . Apartment was lovely ,milk and orange juice in the fridge when we arrived . Tea bags coffee and sugar also there for us. We had a problem free stay. Will definately stay again .

The apartment is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Like, five star hotel clean. The location is suberb, right in the heart of the town. Also, we were nicely surprised to find milk and orange juice in the fridge.

The signage on the door of the apartment is very tasteful, but low-lit and therefore, was a bit difficult to read. At first pass, we totally missed seeing the door. However, with the help of a nearby shop owner (found the correct entrance and introduced us to a neighbor), we were soon inside. Our host, Maria, also arrived in quick time to help sort our confusion over the wifi modem, so we were able to meet her and enjoy a short chat. I mention these things not as criticism, but as a testament to the beauty of a small town and it's people. We had a very pleasant stay and loved the Main Street location for getting about on foot. Very nice shops, pubs, and restaurants are up and down the street; and the Dungloe pier is about a ten-minute walk away.

Nothing much, would definitely return
Location is perfect, right in the middle of main street, close to shops and bars. Fabulous beaches a short drive away. Apartment great, 2 double bedrooms, modern decor, well equipped kitchen and basics in kitchen and bathroom, fresh milk and orange juice a great touch. Very friendly and accommodating host 😊

The shower regulator was slightly difficult. Either too hot or too cold. I have a shower like this at home also. It would be an idea for the host make wifi password more accessible. It is on the back of the modem but took me until the 2nd day to work out the password fro the back of a very very small font on the modem. Not a criticism but more about making life easier for others.
Excellent location and wonderful well equipped apartment. I will return to this apartment for another weekend hopefully soon. Clearly host cares about people having a good time.

Couldn't complain about anything, it was excellent.
Central location, clean and well equipped with good quality towels and utensils. Nice touch that milk and orange juice were provided although we had brought milk anyway. Highly recommended 👍

The apartment was very clean, convenient, and well laid out. It was a perfect home base for exploring all of Donegal. Lots of food and drink options within walking distance in Dungloe. The host had excellent communication and recommendations.
