Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RussiaThe building is quite old and not particularly welcoming nor comfortable. Also not very clean, but it is what you pay for.
The position is great, super central. The room is spacious enough.

The position is perfect. We had to catch an early bus to Dublin just across the road. Very central for restaurants and the river.

Small female room with a bathroom. Super friendly stuff, bar with a life music, warm duvet, close to the railway station and the bus to the airport.

IrelandNothing at all :)
Convenience to the city centre and transport links. Well laid out hostel, comfortable and good price and a nice balcony area to the back. Only a 3 minute walk and you are in Main street. [Patrick Street] Cork is a fantastic City, lots of Culture everywhere. It has many beautiful Churches, 2 Cathedrals, Shandon Tower and Bells you can climb up and play a tune, a fantastic park called Fitzgeralds Park close to the city, bus 208 or 205 will stop a steet beside here. The bus stops at University College Cork is situated on Western Road and worth a walk through as it has wonderful grounds along a river. Further on the bus 208 is a Shopping Mall named Wilton for a coffee and plenty of shopping outlets. There is a stunning Art Gallery (Crawford) The Everyman Theatre (on same street as Bru Hostel) also Cork Opera house check their websites in advance. Informative walking tours and a hop on hop off bus available also. Cork is the home of Dunnes Stores. The first and Original Dunnes Stores is located on Patrick Street and now there is also a store in Merchants Quay Shopping Mall facing the river Lee. If you would like to find evening entertainment Cork City is great!!! Small Traditional music bars such as Sín É and Corner House boast trad sessions regularly at the city end of MCurtain Street. Cork has a lively pub culture with plenty of genres of live music to choose from. I would recommend Crane Lane, live stage most day and evening. Food available also. Close to GPO, the main Post Office. Also Reardans on Washington Street for music and late night to 2.30am and Thomand Bar on Malboro Street Great entertainment bar lots of tv for any sport, live music and fantastic, good Irish food also. On McCurtain Street where Bru Bar&Hostel is located, there are lots of bars/restaurants on the same street with good selections. Nice bar attached to this hostel with large TV and a nice outdoor seating area. Good atmosphere in the bar also live music here.

AustraliaWe are a family of 4 and stayed in a 4 bed room with 2 bunks that was really way too small even by Iteland standards. We felt a little frustrated having to climb over our bags and each other, and we're a family, so it would have been very hard bunking in that room with strangers. There is a private ensuite which is located directly across the hallway.
Location was great. Light breakfast. Friendly staff.

United KingdomFirst of all the staff were great, however we booked a twin room, it wasn’t cheap, €340 for 3 nights, and the room had bunk beds. Not at all suitable, as we are ladies in our 50’s. At not any time during the booking process did it stare the twin rooms ONLY had bunk beds, as obviously I never would have booked. There were no other rooms available, so we had to take that one. We were moved on our last night to another room, again only bunk beds, but at least 2.
The location, and the staff were great.

IrelandOther room mates, which is not the hostels fault! Some were just inconsiderate. Bathrooms need more basics- a couple of hooks to hang clothes when in the shower (shared bathroom, room 204), and a shelf in each bunk to put personal bits and pieces on. Small, easy things but would make a huge difference.
My third time to stay for work. Very basic but very clean. Staff are always nice and easy to deal with. Excellent value.
