Well the day I was leaving I had to make sure I was able yo wash and dry my own saucepans, plate and bowls but the overall stay was marvellous. I was shocked how clean, Cody the room, hot water shower plus the availability of the kitchen plus being able to use my key card to open the big door instead of having to go through the bar was wonderful.

I only eat mostly cooked porridge but I was able to cook that real early as before 7a.m. in your kitchen. I ate several slices of brown bread most days. So was delighted with both value And the option of being a healthy eater plus partaking in the free breakfast was wonderful.

Room mate, he is noisy , smoking in the room (even the facilities it say non smoking area before i booked it ), he dont mind that someone is trying to rest .

The bed was like a brick. I had also been told that I had a bottom bunk. When I got to the room there was only 1 bottom bunk that appeared unoccupied. So I put my stuff on the bed and in the drawer under it. I then went to meet a friend. But when I came back, it was a little after 10pm so I didn't want to turn on the lights. There was someone in my bed. He had just thrown my stuff in a corner and broke my glasses. I saw the other bottom bunk with no one in it now and just took that one.

Staff on check in was friendly. Bar was good prices for food and drink and you could take your own food too.

The private rooms in the 1st floor are directly above the pub with live music/DJ until 1am. So if you dont like sleeping with a vibrant bass sound in your ears, I would recommend to look for another place to stay in Cork.

Dirty, bad coaches, poor breakfast

I slept in 3 different beds for a 3-night stay, because of a mistake that was made at check in by the staff. If I didn’t mind changing beds, I’m less happy that I had to sleep in non-clean bedsheets on the 3rd night bc of that mistake. When I asked for new sheets, the lady told me no, and that it was my fault because I took the wrong bed. But I know I took the right bed and could prove it with the paper that was given to me at check-in.

Location is perfect. The bar is really nice and cosy with live music every night. Music stops at a reasonable hour, so no loud noise at night. Rooms was small but practical, bathroom was clean. The common room and kitchen are nice.

A lady behind the bar used the word retard in on itself I suppose most of us would take no offence but it's something I would not expect from a person behind the bar and when I challenged the comment she fobbed me off so I called her fat which was an actual true fact. So she had no right or reason to use a word that basically all irish people have been brought up not to use. My opinion don't give it if you can't take it

They close the communal tv / kitchen area at 11 pm. This leaves you nowhere to go if you don’t want to go to bed. This meant I had to stop the work I was doing which is really not good. I ended up sitting outside where a local took offence to the fact I was an English C**t and was ready to fight until I stood up and squared up to him. Needless to say I will find somewhere else next time I’m in Cork

They are so considerate knowing I mistakenly booked for a mixed bedroom but since there were 3 men in that room they transferred me to an empty 4 bedroom where I stayed alone. Thanks for that!

Clean hostel with a nice bar downstairs. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Amazing value for the money, as a group of four we ended up with a dorm to ourselves which was ideal!
