We received a warm welcome upon arrival and were greeted with our choice of tea or coffee. The breakfast was excellent, and the neighborhood was peaceful and quiet. The views were fantastic.

Ideal spot for exploring the Irish countryside. The room and private bathroom were spotless clean, the bed was comfortable and the calm atmosphere provided a nice sleep at night. Complete breakfast served in the morning, including eggs, bacon and sausages. 10/10 would recommend.

Hostess was really fantastic. Even down to the little things like answering the door straight away were fantastic. Offered us tea or coffee when we came in. Handed us a key and let us come and go from the house as we pleased. Breakfast was brilliant. Irish breakfast with tea and coffee provided, with orange juice self served. Location is about 15 minutes from kilkenny city but it is a nice and interesting drive in and out of the city. Perfect for a quick one night stay.

Truly a home away from home—if only we could bottle the comfort and good feelings we had from staying here! I only wish we could have stayed longer. The accommodations were convenient (close to Kilkenny), beautiful, and cozy; Brigit was so friendly; and the breakfast was amazing!

    Nothing at all

The host was exceptionally kind, and gave space where needed but was available for any questions. The breakfast was delicious at a time to suit and was all home cooked/baked. The scenery was exactly what I hoped and the host gave me great tips where to visit, run and walk The room was perfect, clean, spacious and all amenities available taht I could want

These are some suggestions and should not be in any way misconstrued as criticisms. Although Bridget made us a cup of tea and a choice of cakes on arrival, which was lovely (and I am sure she would make us one anytime we asked), perhaps a ‘help yourself’ tea/coffee counter in the common/living room could be laid out so we did not have to rely on Bridget. We enjoyed the breakfast but maybe a choice of mushrooms/tomatoes/baked beans could be added. Although there are maps of Kilkenny in the hallway table, more leaflets from the Kilkenny tourist centre could be displayed.

We enjoyed our 3 nights stay. This well-presented B&B with traditional décor is in Freshford, a quiet location in the countryside about 17minutes drive to Kilkenny. There are ample parking spaces on the driveway. Bridget, our lovely friendly host suggested a 2 mile walk round the area of the B&B, which was scenic and had some interesting landmarks. Should you wish to visit Kilkenny, Bridget can recommend some free parking streets there. The room was clean and comfortable. A nice touch was a bottle of water and glasses in the room. There is also an electric blanket on the bed. Good breakfast, the soda bread was delicious, light and fresh.

The hostess was very friendly and acomodating. The breakfast was excellent and delicious. The bed was comfortable. The Castle ruin is next door. We had dinner in the town of Durrow, 8 minutes away. This was a good choice for a quite overnight stop during our Ireland roadtrip.

The owner was so lovely and so accommodating , she went out of her way to ensure my stay was fantastic. The rooms were lovely and the bed was probably the most comfortable bed in a hotel or b&b that I have ever slept in. The rooms were clean and cosy.

The room was a little on the colder side when we got there, but eventually central heating caught up & with a use of the electric blanket that was provided, we had a cosy night. The beds were quite soft and one of the mattresses was a little inclined to one side. Once we got used to it, we still got a good night sleep so it definitely wasn't a deal breaker. Would happily stay again if in the area. .

Such a lovely B&B with very warm and welcoming host. Great location, short drive from Kilkenny and easy to find with just google maps too. Place was nicely decorated and had very welcoming living room space for guests. The host kindly made us warm cuppa since it was quite a rainy cold day and there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was just right, with amazing homemade soda bread.
