Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaWall outlets in the bunks were not working, but they are apparently fixing this ASAP. Also, laundry machines & luggage storage was quite expensive.
Fantastic location, central to everything in Dublin. Staff and facilities were lovely and the common areas were filled with people from the afternoon onwards. They ran social events most nights, too.

MexicoThe staff atention. Bunch of young guys with the worst attitude. The only rude people in all Dublin are in this lobby. Excepting the blonde girl at the reception who was very nice; all the other personal had a very poor quality and attitude.
The room, the location and the facilites.

CanadaI booked this place I'm advance for 2 beds yet for some reason they didn't put us in the same room. They tried to resolve it when we arrived but nothing happened. It was honestly fine but a little weird considering we booked it a few weeks in advance.
Everything is clean and tidy.

Germany- Room not particularly comfortable. A little worse than a certain German blue and orange hostel/hotel chain, but at 3x the price. Okay for 1-2 nights or if you're only in Dublin to get drunk, I guess. Sadly probably still good value for money because it's Dublin and because of the location. - Mattresses completely worn - you can feel every bit of the the metal base underneath when sitting down too fast. - Elevators take ridiculously long to pick you up. Weird programming. - Could use some more signage, for e.g. locker rooms hidden 3 floors below
+ Excellent Location + Breakfast (discounted when booked through pre-stay email link) was surprisingly good + Clean, decent bathroom + Friendly staff

IrelandWhen we stayed, the electrical sockets and lights in our bunks wasn't working so we had no way to charge our devices or see what we were doing at night... I'm sure they've since rectified it though!
The hostel had a really friendly, inclusive atmosphere. There was always someone on reception and the staff were so helpful! The rooms were big for Dublin and the beds were comfortable.

United StatesUnfortunately, I had a bad experience in terms of room facilities that prevents me to give this hostel 5 stars. The plugs and lamps in the bed are great but didn’t work. And I need to charge my devices because I’m out the whole day. I tried everything and I guess others didn’t work too because there was a high demand among the 6 guests for the two working plugs in the room. The other guests were really nice and friendly though. Bad maintenance but shouldn’t happen in a hostel this size/price. The bathroom is en-suite and is big (wheelchair accessible) but there’s no shower curtain, no way to have bathroom rug because it gets all wet. And the worst: the mattress. Terrible mattress! I woke up with a terrible back pain! There were lockers in the room, but again one or two were broken, so not everyone could have a locker. I’m impressed with a lack of maintenance in a hostel this size and price, and how cheap they went for the mattress. I messaged the hostel regarding the plugs because I was working in the room but they only got to me the next day.
Location is great. In front of the red tram line and facilities and the hostel are new. Central location, allows to walk everywhere. Restaurants next door. Several bathrooms, locker room, laundry room. All new and working. I had the buffet breakfast that was complete and good (I love breakfast) and I was happy that I had that option. Basically, for all you need, like to store your belongings, it’s there but it is paid.

GermanyCareful: no kitchen to use for people sleeping there, but they serve breakfast every morning. Also, the matresses are not really the comfiest I've ever slept on. You can feel the springs (but it still wasn't too bad), yet this is a hip place and a great atmosphere in the lounge for a hangout!
Clean, well-equipped rooms; very modern, with USB-slots and lots of plugs. Bathroom clean, spacious shower with shower gels etc (in my double-room). When I arrived, I was told that there had been an overbooking of the hostel. Gladly, the staff solved this problem smoothly by upgrading me from a dorm to a private room - first time in my traveling career and I greatly appreciate it - thanks for making this easy. Overall, I would definitely stay again. I could even see the Spire from my window - very impressive.

United KingdomWe really had wished there had been water glasses in the room. For the price paid we weren't expecting a kettle with tea's etc but 2 glasses or even plastic cups would've been a useful addition.
Location is absolutely superb! We stayed in a private room which was spacious with clean bedding and towels, equipped with shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. Check in process was really easy, we opted for the early check in which we thought was quite good value for money at €15. We used the bar twice, once for coffee and nibbles which were nice and the second time for drinks before we headed out - really nice atmosphere. Saw on posters they do loads of themed nights which would've been fun but didn't line up with our plans this time
