Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesBeyond our control - there was a plumbing issue on our first day preventing shower use until later in the day. Not a major inconvenience, and it was resolved as quickly as possible and handled professionally by staff. While it was disclosed upfront, there were lots of steps and no lifts - not a problem for those who are physically able, but we had members of our group who found it to be a challenge.
Our group had a great time! Location was perfect for our plans. Alex was very helpful, kind and funny. He was probably one of the hardest working staff members - he was everywhere from cleaning out bins in the early day to the bar in evening. In fact, we left Dublin for a few days and when we returned we went back to say hello and to bring new members of our group to meet him and to enjoy fun, music and drinks at The Norseman, but it was his night off! We will just have to return again in the future! The Norseman is my new favorite place to stay when in Dublin!

United StatesThe noise. The street noise was loud. Now, you are offered ear plugs to offset the noise. However, the noise is expected. I do not recommend this hotel for people children. There was no closet space or even a hook on the wall to hang anything. No under bed storage or dressers. Our luggage was all over our room.
The location was fantastic. In the heart of the action. Close to the river, close to pubs and restaurants. It was my first trip to Dublin. Glad I picked Norseman.

United StatesVery noisy even with the ear plugs. The noise had little to do with the bar/club music but everything to do with what was going on outside in the street. Maybe consider investing in sound reducing windows?
The staff was very polite and assisted with all of our requests.

AustriaI realized that it wouldn't be quiet on the street with so many bars when choosing this option, but it was much louder than I expected: different music from outside, people talking and laughing loudly until the early morning, and then the garbage truck collecting the glass bottles very early - there was hardly a bit of sleep, unfortunately.
The location is great, very convenient, close to many things. Nice room.

NetherlandsI can tell you what I expected not to like. Since it is in the middle of Temple Bar street I was afraid that it would be really noisy in the evening, but everything was fine. Couldn't hear lots of noise in our room.
Great staff, neat place above a bar in the middle on a good location

United KingdomDouble glazing could be a good option as it’s very noisy, late night music and street noise not a problem if you are out yourselves, if not, then little chance of sleeping as music and street noise very loud. Early morning traffic noise and barrel deliveries etc will wake you up, easily rectified with new windows. No hooks for your coats and no facilities for clothing to be put away, which isn’t really too much of a problem, slight trip hazard in the room we stayed in as there is a raised area running the full length of the room under the carpet. Would definitely stay again regardless of the above.
Very central, easy to find, able to leave luggage before check in time. Staff all friendly and helpful. Great music in the bar itself. Very clean room. Beds comfortable, shower very good.

Polandthe room is small so it is difficult to live in for longer stays. the lack of a fridge and kettle is a major difficulty here. To improve the sliding door in the bathroom, it had a tendency to open.
The location is the biggest asset of this place, just around the corner the most famous Temple Bar, the very centre of social life. the room was clean, the bathroom you can see that it has been recently renovated. The room is not spacious and for one day's stay adequate. Was a little noisy, as it is in such a place, but not as much as some exaggerate, additionally ear stoppers are provided. The hotel is located above a bar and restaurant, so it is close to go down and eat without looking. I can't judge the quality of the food because I didn't use the restaurant, but the occupied tables may be a recommendation.
