Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. We did not exactly have a sea view. We did if we strained our neck to look to the right of the small window in the room. The room was advertised as a sea view. I think my mistake, but we expected to be in Portmagee, but we're several kilometres out of town. Fortunately we had a vehicle. I noted tge property did not meet expectations due to the lack of a sea view and location.
The room was warm and clean, bed was comfortable. The shower had good pressure and water was hot. Our host advised the room had been recently refurbished and asked if improvements were needed. We advised that a towel rail in the bathroom was needed, as there was nowhere to hang a towel.

Very nice B&B, clean, quiet and cozy. A stone’s throw from Portmagee and the beautiful Valentia Island - very practical. Had a lovely night there.

Nothing everything were great
Wow what a trip away we had, Hosts we very accommodating and helpful directing us to the best places to eat nearby which didn't disappoint. Would highly recommend the Jacuzzi to. It's not often you'd want to rebook a place but this one is definitely getting booked again in summer 🌞

I loved the peace and quite away from the city. It had a beautiful view. Paula, who sorted us out, was incredible. She was so super nice. The jacuzzi and sauna were impeccable. You could see the seafront from the jacuzzi.

Very clean and spacious enough with all you may need for a short stay. The option to use the sauna and jacuzzi is a great addition to the quality of the stay and experience. A nice location, calm area a few minutes drive from restaurants and bars. The host is great. I'd for sure stay there again if I'm in the area.

If I have to pick on an awesome property for the price. It would have to be a suggestion to have shower gel in the bathroom. But this is scraping the bottom of the barrel the place was excellent.
The host is super friendly and welcoming. She is available for any questions or help you require. The room was spaces with all the facilities required for a short stay. The property is close enough to town to pop in and get food and drinks. But away enough to have a peaceful retreat.

Everything really was amazing! Our room was spotlessly clean,warm and cosy. Location only 3 min drive from the village. The surroundings were so calm and quiet. Jacuzzi just topped the weekend. And our host Paula was just exceptional with great tips and advice for places to see and things to do. We would highly recommend this place for a getaway be it a couple or a family! Can't wait for our next visit there..

Nothing had a great stay and experience, exactly what we wanted as a little weekend cosy getaway.
Lovely fresh apartment style accommodation, kitchette very handy for tea/coffee or cooking if you wanted nice to have sitting room space for watching TV, deep corner style bathtub was very nice, really warm accommodation could control heating and warmed up quickly.
