We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe room was nice with a reasonable sized balcony, but the bathroom was very small and badly laid out. I had a bath but it was difficult to get into and the water barely covered my knees. We had dinner in the Mapas restaurant which was good but the portion size was very small with hardly any vegetables.
Nice situation, on top of a hill with stunning views of Dublin Bay surrounded by mature trees in a pleasant suburb.

United KingdomThe hotel itself is a bit old and we had an issue in our bathroom when you ran the water. We knew there was an issue with discolouration of water in Dublin but worryingly, when we ran the sink tap there was a leak onto the floor from underneath the unit. The gym was OK, but again, the handles of the cross-trainer was frayed and just looked old and used.
The hotel is impressive from the outside. The location is amazing and we had a car to get there so that made life a lot easier. This would be difficult to get to on public transport. Check-in was pretty straight forward and we were easily able to make our way to the room, which, I have to say was one of the biggest rooms I've ever stayed in! The view from our room was incredible!

QatarIt's more a recommendation - provide an information sheet for all guest with all the opening times for meals, gym etc . The reception staff tell you it all when you check in but by the time you get to your room you've forgotten most of it.

United KingdomDalkey is a commuter town so our plan was to park at the Dart station for about €5 (it’s 5 mins drive away but about 25 mins walk from the hotel - and there’s a big hill which might be a bit much for small feet on the way back after a long day in Dublin) However there were no parking spots in the long term car park next to the station and nowhere else in the vicinity to park for more than 2 hours. Taxis aren’t immediately available at the hotel either so our advice would be to book a taxi well in advance for both journeys with the assistance of the hotel staff.
Great facilities - particularly for families - our family room was so spacious - and very friendly staff. Was brilliant to have access to a pool too. Food was lovely and the surroundings were scenic and pretty with great coast walls nearby. Dalkey is a lovely historic village with lots of lovely cafes and places to eat and its heritage centre had a really entertaining tour with actors in costume where children got to make their own coins at the end - it was really interactive and lots of fun for my 8 year old son. Great fit getting into Dublin on the Dart. Also only a couple of Dart stops away from Greystones (which has great restaurants too).

Czech RepublicNo air conditioning, the room was ridiculously hot, we had the fan on and the door to the room open to try and cool the room down, we had turned the radiators off as soon as we arrived but this the heat was coming from either kitchens below or the near by swimming pool. For the price, I expected luxury, but the wallpaper was damaged in multiple areas and the room itself was extremely dated.
The breakfast was lovely, live music was good.
