Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe bathroom wasn’t the best - shower head moved when using it which made showing awkward! Corridors were very noisy on a night time
Property was in a great location and had amazing facilities. Great value for money. Bed was comfortable. Staff were for the most part very helpful.

United StatesStaff was so mean. I work at a hotel both full and part time, and I understand if they are stressed by all the french kids, but Im just one person, I come across nice and i respect staff. But on multiple occasions they just were cold and rude. Tried ordering breakfast and was told i could only get a continental breakfast, but they say they offer a full menu. after a long night of being ill and sleeping 12 hours because of it, i accidentally locked my bag up in my container and was met with a lot of hostility so i just had to be stern and say "okay then how do i fix my situation?".
Location was alright for the price, had to do some heavy walking to get anywhere that offered cafes or shops. but that was about max 15 min

ArgentinaThe music is too loud during the whole day and the rooms whre not that clean. The Ladies Showers were not fully equipped -there is only a hair dryer, for example, and no plugs-.
The staff was super nice and it is a good choice for students and groups. It is not that close from the centre of the city, but is a nice place with restaurants around.

United KingdomThe check in wasn’t ready at 2pm and as I was only staying for a short amount of time, I would’ve preferred to have been able to get to my room and back out to explore Dublin. The bunk bed in down were very low - compared to other Generator hostels, as a 5”5 female, my head touched the above bed frame. The neighbourhood I felt unsafe as a solo traveller - although the main road is well lit, in order to get to the hostel, it is a brief walk down two back streets, before it opens back up into a lit area. I wish I had known before booking
I enjoyed the building - it had many floors but not too broad so you got lost. The bar area was very sociable with events on (not sure if private or for anybody to attend).

IrelandIf noise isn't your thing, then I wouldn't recommend the location.
The location is ideal for access to the city centre, the rooms are nicely laid out, security is strong with the need for keycards and the staff are helpful.

United KingdomI didn’t feel it was clean enough, it wasn’t terrible but I didn’t think the bathroom was very clean and we had a private room with en suite bathroom. I felt that it wasn’t great for the money spent.
The location was good, the property has a nice entertainment area with pool tables and a bar. Easy check in and easy check out. Friendly staff. Electronic lockers to leave your luggage for early arrivers.

IrelandPillows are a bit thin, making a bit difficult to find a confortable position. There was a small mishap on the bathroom, but hope maintenance can fix it asap.
Great location, 3 min walk from the Luas stop, Tesco Express and a few restaurants in the area. Great help from Agostina, Mariana and Anabel .. always nice and helpful with a couple questions.

New ZealandThis was my second stay within a short amount of time, I was dissapointed again with the cleanliness and noise. I understand it’s a large hostel and a party hostel but people are also there to sleep and I think there needs to be more monitoring and respect around that, there were people next door constantly knocking and slamming the doors and people running through the hallways, there seems to be lots of young groups who don’t know how to act in a shared space. The bathrooms need an upgrade they are old and don’t work properly are not suitable for sharing, there’s no where to put your toiletries, there is lots of mould and grime, the toilet flush didn’t work properly, water gets all over the ground and there is no shower mat, there is also zero soundproofing for the bathroom which isn’t great when people are going to bed late or waking up early. I think the standard of the hostel needs to be revisited especially as it’s not a dirt cheap hostel, and has potential. I think a lot of it comes down to lack of care because it’s a hostel and it would be nice if there was more care because hostels can be a good experience and most people still want a clean and comfortable space. Also why have doors the naturally slam and are impossible to be quiet in a building without soundproofing?
The bed is comfortable, the room is warm, I like that there are female only rooms. Laundry and other essentials available onsite.

Germanywith this particular stay, there was practically no noise cancelling to the bathroom, and I shared the room with 5 guys as a woman. also, there were no sockets in the common bathroom - that's a bit uncomfortable
I really enjoy Generator hostels. I have been to many of them. I know the standard and I love the design. The area around Jameson Distillery is really nice and there was a good atmosphere at the bar

New ZealandThe hostel is quite noisy, can hear the music from downstairs (floor 2) people were running and talking in the hallways and the doors bang. The room and bathroom need a deep clean and cleaning was missed a couple times. The pillow is extremely thin and privacy curtains should be added. There also needs to be hanging space and a place to put toiletries in the bathroom.
I stayed in the female room, I liked that there was a bathroom in the room itself. Bedroom was never full which was good during my stay. Also liked the desk with a mirror to do skincare/makeup. The shower was decent.
