Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SlovakiaThe biggest plus of the hostel are its employees. I very positively evaluate their approach, especially at the reception. The biggest disappointment is that the hostel does not have a kitchen. There is also little space for working with a laptop. Some plugs do not work at all, e.g. on the stage above the bar and there are few of them. I was also surprised that you can't actually eat food in the room at the entrance to the hostel. The beds and rooms were generally clean, but there was trash behind the beds and the threshold. Wifi worked without problems. Breakfast was tasty but extremely expensive. It should be half cheaper for hostel guests...otherwise people will go elsewhere for breakfast where it's cheaper. I was also surprised to charge high prices for billiards, table football, etc. Overall, the level of the hostel has dropped as before the pandemic.

CyprusI didn’t like that the toilets and the bathrooms was on the second floor and my room was on the first floor. The bathrooms are very old and some of them were broken. The bathroom area needs ASAP renovation not only on the second floor but on basement as well.
The staff was very friendly, the location of the hostel was very nice and there were a lot of food options near. You can also use hostel’s key to get a 10% discount at Jameson Distillery.

GreeceThe toilets where for the whole floor. I calculated aprox one toilet for ten people (I'm not sure for the number though). It's also irritating that you have to walk outside the room in order to get there. Also I found them clean only once in two days that I stayed...
Very nice lounge bar. The beds where clean.

IrelandClean sheets but grubby duvets inside which slipped out during night as no buttons to hold in when I seen it felt sick. Dust and dirt gathered in corners of room, it wasn’t clean. Bathroom grout on tiles in shower was unpleasant looking. Left something in room could not get through on number from website and when I did staff were rude and unhelpful wasn’t through to hotel but another centre taking bookings. was promised callback but did not happen, very poor customer service.
Enjoyed our trip, location was ok and hand soap in room.

ItalyAs an hostel, it's hard to keep very clean and the noisy goes until late. I found necessary add a calm place where people can do their things (work, computers..) relaxed. Which is not available right now.
Amazing vibe and environment. The place is vibrant, very well surrounded, and has a perfect location. In my opinion, it's the best choice for a couple of days in Dublin if you're looking for a place to enjoy, share and keep partying.

CanadaFor the beds only 1 of 4 liked how firm the mattress was. The Pillows were the worst. We really would have loved to have better ones. The Shower was starting to get mold on the corners.
WE loved the bunk bed set up and they were very sturdy. That we could have a privet room with bathroom was great. the shower had great water presser and temp.

AustraliaI'd love some thicker curtains in the room to block out the light, as there are very large lights in Smithfield Square that shine right into the room. For a hostel, Generator Dublin was also very expensive at about 75 euros per night - but still slightly cheaper than lower-scale hotels in the area.
I love Generator hostels! This was a comfortable, funky hostel in a fabulous location with a very impressive bar at the bottom. Beds were comfy, I appreciated the individual reading light on each bed and the easy access to power points. Bathroom was clean and the cat mural in my room was super cute.

Generator is a well known hostel chain, and has high standards. This is why I was surprised and a bit disappointed from the guest-experience that I had there. Stayed 7 nights in a 4 beds room (2 bunk beds). I must mention I'm in my 40's so I'm not a youth (but Generator is not a youth hostel). The room itself is very small. Packed with 4 ppl and all their suitcases and baggage - makes it quite uncomfortable for staying. Other details such as: the tiny sink, the shortage of hangers and the "smart" but not verry efficient system of the storage drawer, under the bunk: also contribute to the general inconvenience On the other hand: the mattress is comfortable, so as the pillow and the blanket. The room is being cleaned every day. Also: the pub, the live shows and the lobby with the sits in it - are indeed Cool. Breakfast is also fine (for 10 Euros, by the way). The location of the Hostel is great, in a new developed area, very close to the bus station to / from Airport and with walking distance to all Dublin's attractions.

SpainThe last night of my stay the other guests were noisy and it was a shame because otherwise it had been a good stay. I found the prices at the bar too expensive. And it could've been clearer on the website that you have to bring your own lock for the lockers in the room (cages under the beds). €6,5 is to expensive for a cheap lock but you're left with little alternative if you arrive late and the shops are closed. I felt that is taking advantage of us.
It was easy to check in and out. It was a nice gesture to give guests a goodie envelope for St Patrick's including a free ticket up the tower.
