Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandCreaky floors and thin walls could hear other guests at night!!
Lovely hotel, great location in mallow main St. with a handy car park at rear, free for guests, we really enjoyed our stay, rooms are nice and bed was so comfy, staff and service good especially Adam in the bar, we didn't have breakfast but bar food was superb, live trad music at night was brilliant too, they also have a lovely heated beer garden at the rear, separate pool area at rear, but we are land creatures so never use it, overall a great hotel to stay in and base for exploring Cork!!

IrelandOpening the door to the gym area on time would of been helpful. Having to bang on the door for 15 mins to gain access the first morning was pretty dam poor, 5 mins on the second morning and a member of the public unlocking the door and on the final day I gave up after 5 mins just went for a walk up and down the street instead.
Breakfast was very enjoyable and the choice was excellent. The staff were really pleasent and helpful.

United KingdomThe breakfast wasn't the best, but there were plenty of options, and it was still okay. I had to go out to get a decent coffee. The staff were great tho. They warmed the pancakes up for the kids, which was great. Oh and the kettle in the bedroom was positioned in a place where the plug wouldn't fit (because it was low down at the desk and had no room for the wire below plug). And because of this the kettle had clearly not been used for a long time, it was slimey and gross inside. I gave it a good wash and moved the kettle to beside the bed but I was still put off at this point because I had none of my usual cleaning things (obviously). I'm sure if I had made them aware they would have changed it, they were very good.
I loved the hotel, it was like a maze with fun locations at each turn - the pub, resteraunt, garden bar, pool and gym. The location was amazing, one of the best playgrounds we've been to at the castle. Mcdonald opposite - kids were very happy. Shops close by for anything we'd forgotten - ideal. We will be back!

United StatesOur room was a handicapped room, but the shower head wouldn’t stay upright, so you had to hold it in your hand in order to shower.
The hotel has a nice vibe and was very conveniently located for walking to get food.

United KingdomBreakfast a bit haphazard. No welcome on arrival or direction to table or information about what the system was.Breakfast room chaotic with little interaction with staff or support to find a table. Or support in advising with how things worked. Tables around were piled up with uncleared tables and generally gave a bad impression.
Comfortable room. Clean and with everything needed. Breakfast was a less enjoyable experience.

United KingdomThe man at check-in/reception was quite brutal and cold when it came to a problem with my cards: I had changed my name back to my birthname in April but my debit-card and credit-card issuers had not yet sent updated cards, therefore he rejected both cards based on the differing names. Whilst I fully understand and accept his reasons for doing that, I have a problem with the cold way in which he dealt with it: I had cycled in heavy rain and therefore was soaked - an empathic receptionist would have checked me in and at least let me dry off and then deal with the payment issue, either later that night or in the morning (no risk of non-payment because booking.com held my card details). Instead, he sent me back out into the rainy night in order to visit an ATM to pay by cash, something I had not done in 20 years. If I had not offered to pay by cash, I'm pretty sure he would have thrown me back on to the street with nowhere to stay (and no shelter because no car).
Very convenient from the station, not as convenient returning to the station because I discovered in the morning that the road back to the station is one-way only - factor in an extra 1.4km if cycling back to the station. The facilities listed sound awesome but I just wanted a bed for the night; as such the cost was still reasonable for that limited usage; would obviously be much better value if you use the swimming pool and other facilities. Would be great to see a discounted 'bed only' rate...
