Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWhile the quality of accommodation was good, I thought it was overpriced. We stayed in hotels with better quality for less during our stay in Ireland. The breakfast was OK but pretty standard and not as good as in other hotels we stayed.
The staff were very good and welcoming. The accommodation was good

IrelandWanted to order food to bring it upstairs to the bedroom, because of health issues, had an operation so eat very very slow, explained but manager said no, had to get chips from outside. No bar fridge in the rooms, the rooms are so close to each other, you can hear even the person next door in the toilet doing their business, not nice

United KingdomShower water was cold on 2nd morning had to rinse myself and my hair with freezing water. I rang to hotel and staff member said oh il check the timer. No apogy and no call back. First night electric went off during the night. Was still off in morning and we asked about breakfast but were told no electricity. We were not even offered a glass of fruit juice or cereal. As we had paid hotel upfront I messaged via booking.com to ask for partial refund due to no breakfast as we had to drive to get some. 2 emails later no response. Very poor customer service not to even respond and we shouldn't have had to ask for a partial refund. We spent considerable money in restaurant, bar and on hotel and not even a gesture. Won't be back.
Lovely bedrooms, great food in restaurant and breakfast lovely. Great wee bar downstairs.

IrelandWe only had 1 key for front door and room, so made it difficult if we wanted to go back separately. Missed the extras of a hotel, iron etc Very noisy on the Sat night, Sun not as bad but still noisy with the music, difficult when you have a child with you.

IrelandVery noisy, dog was barking for about an hour and a half the first night. You could hear other people shouting at dog owners, hear people walking around upstairs and a person snoring. Noise from the adjoining pub was an issue on the second night of stay also along with some more barking, snoring and footsteps. Dinner was fine but I felt it was very expensive for what I got. The breakfast was also very poor, cereal tasted stale, meat slices were very fatty. Only one staff working while I was eating breakfast and she was busy trying to do everything herself overall I felt it was a vastly overpriced B&B and won’t plan on returning.
Room was very clean and very warm. The beds were comfy and the shower had good pressure and was lovely and hot. Staff were pleasant and happy to help but hard to find at times.

United KingdomUnfortunately our room was above the kitchen, which ordinarily wouldn’t of been a problem except it was extremely hot in the room and sleeping with the windows open was then noisy in the evenings and early mornings. The hot water uses a tank and therefore if like us, you shower at peak times then you have a high chance of ending with a cold shower. Just shower quick or avoid needing the hot water at peak times and you won’t have any problem.
A very authentic local b&b/Pub. All staff were lovely and went above and beyond to help and ensure our stay was great. Location wise is perfect for a night or two to explore Wislow and the surrounding areas. There’s not much in Rathdrum itself, although we did enjoy a round of crazy golf at the local camping site.

United KingdomThe decor is very old fashioned ( but as above very clean) The bed was very old and flat with old flat pillows and the linen was average (but clean) The food in the restaurant was very very disappointing. I had booked it because of the awards it had received but the vegetarian options were poor and lly tatseless (I left it uneaten)
The room was spotless and the shower was lovely The location to the rest of Wicklow is perfect

IrelandBreakfast was OK, but there was no gluten free cereal for my coeliac husband ,even though I had informed them prior to arriving ,and the gluten free bread that they did have for him every morning was a bap/burger bun which he tried but couldn't eat, as it seems they had defrosted it in a microwave and it made the bun stodgy and doughy .
Decent location close to tge new Avondale Park and forest walks which are fabulous. Room was very clean comfy and well equipped . Staff were really friendly and helpful .
