Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaThe ladies dorms are on the last floor, going up was a pain. The hand bands that we had to wear at all times was also a bit annoying.
The place was clean and the study area was very useful as I was writing exams and had to study. There was no noise and everyone was quiet and respectful.

FranceWe were in a private room but the noises were unbearable, despite having ear plugs we heard everything and weren’t able to sleep. The bed, really small for two people, was shaking when someone walked in the doorway. It could also use another chair and a blind for the second window
The staff was really nice and helpful

IrelandFemale receptionist came across very unhelpful and rude. Appreciate it was a busy day but not really good enough either. 3pm is extremely late for a check in also. Online check in process was terrible and little desire from staff for assistance. If it was a cheap hostel it would be fine but at 100 euros per night for a bed not acceptable
The beds were super comfy and bathrooms were nice.

UkraineAll the good, but it'll be more better if I can book bottom bunk at over cost, for example. Although top bunk is really comfortable, sometimese we need only bottom.
In my opinion this is the best hostel in Dublin. Really wonderful hostel.

United KingdomIt was very loud. The place seems to always be busy. It was very warm and the windows were open meaning we could hear the streets louder. The pricing was weird. One booking cost roughly 200+ GBP and the other booked even later only cost 90+ gpb
It was a fair place to stay for the short term that we did. Though i personally would say get a hotel. The bunk and room were clean. We saw the bathroom closed for cleaning from time to time. It was easy enough to get to and from oconnel st. I would say it was an exceeding hostel.

United KingdomThe temperature in the rooms, the staff, their unaccommodating nature (don’t expect to be able to stay in your room if you switch for any reason - you have to check out at 11am and then check back in at 3 - no such thing as just transferring rooms). And the shower was absolutely scorchingly hot - was agony trying to wash my hair under boiling water.

SpainI guess there is no way to solve that people have no respect for others when entering the shared room in the middle of the night.

United KingdomThe lack of staff or poor system of check in was exasperating - check in is at 3pm (fair enough) but one person checking in multiple people results in buzzers being given out and an almost half hour wait to finally be given a room key whilst they also juggle other enquiries and giving people access to luggage store. When you have reservations for your last night in Dublin, it’s infuriating to be sat in a hostel waiting on incompetent systems. We ended up showing our passports twice and being told we had to wear wristbands for hostel security to identify us. The wristbands are pure marketing- I did not put mine on as we were going out for the evening and thought it ridiculous. We re entered the hostel later that night with no questions asked when neither myself or my partner were wearing them. The room was dingy, a bed pushed into the corner, dirty windows and filthy floors that weren’t even swept whilst the bedding was put on wrong. But the absolute worst thing about this place is the noise. Such terrible, constant noise throughout the night when we only had the opportunity to sleep til 3.30am due to our flight, I was so tempted to just get changed and leave out of frustration. Room 6 is apparently a private room but for all the stampeding up and down the stairs adjacent and above the room it might as well not be. On the other side are male toilets which you can hear people in and the pump kicking in. Slamming of the toilet and corridor doors are the cherry on top. And none of it subsided before the alarm went off, even leaving the room at 3.45am a man came down the stairs to the toilets in just underwear. And as a female, the toilets available for me were 2 floors up…so why on earth there are private rooms on this floor is beyond me. Consideration from other guests and the hostel planning is non existent. All in all, paying an extra 20 euro for a much higher quality would have been worth it even for the limited hours it had to be endured.
Nothing, I regret trying to save some money because of an early morning flight.

AustraliaThe curtain kept falling off the bed, the mattress was basically just foam, very uncomfortable. No curtains or fly screen over the window. Have to wear a wristband throughout your entire stay but they dont even check that you have one when you enter? Only filtered water tap is in the lower floor (four floors below from the womens floor).
Room was large - lots of space for suitcases etc. Plenty of bathrooms, never had to wait for a shower/sink. Womens only dorms were on their own floor.
