Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BrazilThe main issue that I faced during my stay was the unavailability of functional bathrooms on my floor, despite being assured otherwise during the check-in process. Additionally, the staff's response to the problem was not satisfactory; I was merely redirected to an alternative bathroom with limited facilities. Improved communication and prompt resolution of such issues would have significantly enhanced my experience.
While my stay at hostel had its challenges, one positive aspect was the comfort of the beds. Despite the water issue that significantly affected my overall experience, the comfort of the beds was noteworthy. The sleeping arrangements were pleasant, providing a bit of respite amid the inconvenience caused by the bathroom facilities.

United KingdomI don’t really know where to start, obviously for £13 I shouldn’t have expected much, it’s really cheap, but I needed somewhere safe and clean to stay. I guess I got the safety part? Clean? Sorta but I can’t judge the whole hostel because I have to keep walking down from the 3rd floor to the ground to go for a wee. Unfortunately no water as I’m staying but they’ve cut off everything, I couldn’t even wash my hands or brush my teeth before going to bed. Couldn’t flush a toilet. After climbing up and down 3 flights of stairs I can’t even wash my hands… Serious hygiene issue, obviously if there water issues there’s issues but to cut the whole hostel off???? Closing every toilet for ‘maintenance’ I have some issues with mobility sometimes and it’s not friendly at all, I have almost had an accident having to run down 3 flights. To then not be able to wash my hands after. Disgusting, for £13 I should’ve expected but dogs get treated better. They have a badly spelt sign up to warn of the ‘water’ and offer you to go to their property up the road, but why should I?

SpainWe've been in many hostels because we like travel and choosing this place was a huge mistake. Since we arrived all started bad, a big queue just to do the check in ( only one person working) so we spent more than 40 minutes, then a guess complaint at the desk that they had not water since three days before also no contingency plan for the issue and no news about when the issue will be solved at this time we've already done check in. The worst experience that I had and I am giving one start because I cannot put less in the review.

PolandI regret to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the state of the sanitary facilities in this hostel. My stay here was extremely unpleasant due to the absolutely tragic condition of the restroom facilities. The bathrooms lacked basic hygiene supplies, and there was a consistent issue with access to running water, significantly impeding daily functioning. The absence of proper sanitary conditions adversely affected the overall comfort and hygiene of my stay. I feel compelled to bring attention to these issues in the hope that they will be addressed promptly for the benefit of future guests. The current state of the facilities falls below acceptable standards, and I believe improvements are essential to maintain the reputation and quality of service expected in hospitality establishments.

IrelandMen’s toilets on the first floor not working, no signage up and toilets filled with waste as people were not aware they weren’t working before using them. The showers for men were also not working and again there was no signage to inform guests of this and the reception staff did not inform guests of this either

FranceIf I'm going to a youth hostel, I don't expect anything extraordinary. I expect something affordable that meets my basic needs. Well, they managed to disappoint on almost everything. I accidentally booked my room for one person instead of two. Sure, it was my mistake. But paying 50€ to add an extra guest? As I said, a youth hostel is supposed to be affordable... -someone entered our room (private room for two) without knocking to clean it (we hat to wait for the checking because they had to clean the room, so wtf). -we could ear every step in the corridor and every car passing by -the "kitchen" only offers the possibility to heat up dishes, not to cook. Once again, it's supposed to be a youth hostel, and that should be basic to let people cook! -the showers offer barely some intimacy and no safe place to leave your stuff -the toilet's flushes were broken everywhere all the time Pretty sure I forget things but well, I think my opinion is clear.
There's nice paintings and the luggage service is good.

FranceWe were aware of the fact that this is a hostel, we have stayed at accomodations like this many times before and we never had a problem. However on this occasion we had quite bad experience. Despite the fact that everything is given to consider it a great hostel : it's close to the center, the double room we have rented was clean and comfortable, the building and the women's bathroom was quite clean as well. BUT the noise is unbearable : 1. The bathroom's hand dryer is incredibly noisy and the different guests kept using it all day and all night long, two of them even thought it's a hairdryer at 2 o'clock in the morning ... It did not let us sleep for two nights... 2. The room doors are making way too much noise as well, made us feel like everyone in the building is upset about something so they gave their best to literraly shut (or break) the doors.. 3. The noise coming from the street, cars, parties etc did not help us during our stay either. I seriously think that hostels should establish some BASIC ground rules for their guests such us : - the respect of other people > we don't speak loudly nor scream nor run in the corridors like kids who can't behave after 10pm - if there is a hand-dryer that is so noisy, we don't use them after a certain hour OR WE PROVIDE PAPER HAND TOWELS ...

GermanyAs a solo traveling woman some of the men accommodated there were very creepy and would not leave me alone unfortunately. So I would not recommend this hostel to young solo traveling women. Otherwise I would say it is a good choice if you want to stay with some friends for just a few nights. Also the dining area is poorly equipped, it has ovens and microwaves but no decent kitchen cuttlery and no stove.
The curtains on the bunks give more privacy, each bed has an own drawer that can be locked. There are no mixed dorms, which is regarding some of the male residents a good thing. Also the staff was very helpful at the reception.

United KingdomThe hostel advertises having a kitchen, which is one of the reasons we stayed there. However, their "kitchen" consists of a few microwaves and what was potentially a microwave grill? No stove to actually cook a meal, which was what we were expecting... I have stayed in a lot of hostels before, but never have I experienced such a strange array of people staying there. We did not feel partiularly comfortable most of the time. Our room didn't have any curtains on the windows, and so anyone walking past the corridor could look in. The bathrooms weren't particularly clean, and the shower water was freezing. I think the boiler was broken for half of our stay as there was no hot water on the property or heating... The staff weren't the most pleasant or friendly either, and didn't really give much information upon check-in. Not very welcoming.
The beds are incredibly comfortable, and they had black-out curtains which was good since the windows didn't have any.
