Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThere was no elevator, we had to take the stairs to the 3rd floor. We went to Dublin for the weekend and had to travel light (1 bag) so we had to rent towels when we arrived. Would be nice if these were included in the booking.
The beds, pillows, and blankets were super comfortable. Even though we stayed in a mixed dorm where the lights are always on, we had our own privacy and could sleep in a dark space. The shared bathrooms were clean, the shower had very hot water and they provide shower gel. The staff was friendly 24h a day. The city center is like 15 minute walking, but there are nice bars/clubs nearby as well and the tram is also nearby.

BrazilMy room was on the third floor and there is no elevator. But it wasn't a problem, just an observation.
Good location, relaxed atmosphere, games room, good internet, kitchen and several bathrooms. The reception staff are polite and friendly.

PortugalThe shower was terrible, low pressure and the water was pointing out to the wall, no way to change this as it was a fixed shower head. This should be improved.
I really liked the Location and the room was spacious. I liked as well the privacy of the bunk beds and the fact that we had a light and USB charging on each bed.

IrelandThere is a lot of steps to the top floors.
I liked that the bunk beds had privacy curtain with a light and socket. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a shelf with storage underneath for your valuables. The four bed female room also had a toilet and shower in the room.

United StatesThe accommodations were not impressive at all. Almost all of the personal lockers in my bedroom failed to actually lock, meaning all of your personal belongings could be easily stolen. They also failed to provide any sheets at all, only a duvet and pillow without covers. Also, the shower only included one button that gives you water for 10 seconds, with no control over what temperature it is. It is also worth noting that the hostel did not seem especially social. I was lucky enough to meet another solo traveler in my room that I befriended, but this had nothing to do with the atmosphere or activities of the hostel. The staff was not particularly warm or friendly.
The location was ideal, an easy bus ride from the airport and close to all the main attractions in the city center. Also, the common areas were very cute, especially the front room and backyard.

United KingdomIt took over an hour to get checked in (they gave me a buzzer and told me to wait in the lounge until called), so I missed out on something I really wanted to see as I was only staying for the one night. There is also no lift so I had to lug my suitcase up 4 flights of stairs.
The bed was quite comfortable and private. The bathroom was also nice and spacious.

United KingdomLiterally the only thing i can fault is value for money, we paid an extortionate amount to say here, however, it is Dublin and accommodation here is expensive
The beds were very comfy, black out curtains in every bed with a cubby to store your belongings. The only thing I could fault were the pillows as they were very flat. The hostel was clean, location was around 20 min walk away from temple bar area. The social area was good, you can also rent towels, chargers etc if you forgot them. There is also a locked room to store your luggage once you check out which is very helpful!

SwitzerlandI didn’t find the stairs, because I’m used to it, but others might have problems with the hundred plus steps to the top floor.
The very best: Every bunk bed had it’s own curtain, so you wouldn’t be disturbed from guests turning on the light. The mattress was very comfy (I often have problems with that). I stayed on the top floor, where it was really quiet. In the breakfast area in the basement the walls were stripped back to the bare rocks the foundation was built with. It’s a small detail but I like that in architecture. And although the property must be really old and could use an update in the facilities area, it was really clean at all times.

FranceI had to change room as I found a rat (a rat not a mouse) in my room at the 8th floor. I also saw a rat in the reception. No apologies from the management. There is loud music coming from the club next door so it's hard to sleep until 12h30 am. I also got charged (in cash) by the receptionist 10% of the value of reservation because I paid by credit card.

United StatesNothing really. It's like any typical hostel.
Decent location and the staff was super helpful. Always seemed like someone was cleaning something the whole time I was there. The bathrooms were adequate and was caught off guard by no towels but you can rent them. Wifi was great. It was also good to see that it was emphasized for the guests to keep it queit.

United StatesThe area is ok but it’s off of a street that could feel a bit dodgy as a woman if arriving after dark. It’s close walking distance to many good areas though. My pod only had a small bin for valuables and the lock latch wouldn’t work High price for hostel - but that’s Dublin …
The beds are very comfortable for a hostel. Good blanket and pillow, so if all you want is a good sleep it works well. The curtains give you some privacy and each has a light and charger socket. My room was very quiet, one other respectful bunk mate. My female dorm room had a bathroom attached which made it feel more comfortable
