Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomFar and away the most expensive hostel I've ever stayed in, and that includes London, New York, and Tokyo! Thankfully the eye bleeding cost was made up for by the lovely building and excellent night's sleep. Steps to the top floor on a baking hot day were a bit challenging.
Perfect location and possibly the most comfortable cabin bunk I've ever slept in. Great to stay in a classic Dublin townhouse.

United StatesHonestly, there was just a lack of communication and community there for me. Most people (staff included) seemed to be Spanish or Portuguese native speakers. As an English speaker, I had trouble communicating a few times. Also, it seems to be a place set up for long-term stays. So, there’s not much effort to orient new people. I had no idea there was even a self-catering kitchen until day 2. And while the place is really clean, their cleaning schedule is confusing. Signs posted note 11-3 is cleaning, which seems normal. But, both of the women’s shower rooms/toilets were closed for cleaning between 8-9am on the morning I left. I had to get ready in some random toilet in the basement along with a few other women and, randomly, a man who seemed to be trying to take a whole shower in the sink we were all sharing. So, if you’re a Portuguese or Spanish speaker and you’re looking for a longer term place to stay, especially if you’re a student, this might be a good fit for you. It was not the right fit for me.
Good location and facilities.

IrelandIt is not nice at all that guests are technically required to wear a wrist band to identify them as hostel guests - I couldn't believe that the guy at reception actually put it on my wrist (what are we? 5 years old...?!) and I actually couldn't get it off and needed to slide it off my hand...; Is check out really 11am (as advertised)? After 10am on the morning of check out, I discovered that the nearest men's bathroom was closed for cleaning, I thought this was very inconvenient, but worse was to come - in the actual room (well before 11am), a staff member was already there and proceeding to take the sheets off a bed while the occupant of the bed was still there! Please don't clean the rooms or bathrooms until after 11am if that is the actual check out time...
The location is very good - on quite a quiet street yet only minutes on foot from the top of O'Connell Street; the bed / pod was very comfortable with good lighting and charging facilities and, most importantly, curtains for privacy (excellent) and I was happy that - given the configuration of the room - there were no beds directly opposite each other; the building itself is a grand building with lots of beautiful common space - nice areas to chill out in; the staff were friendly...

United KingdomThe bathroom door lock was not functioning in my 4 bed female room. This was not resolved during my stay.
The location is so central making it very easy to organise day trips. The facilities helpfully include a kitchen area with fridges and cupboards, crockery and cutlery, kettles, microwave and seating and laundry areas. Also comfy lounge areas to relax elsewhere in the building. I really like the period detail in the stairwells / on the ceilings. The mattresses are comfortable and the bathrooms are cleaned well every day. The kitchen was a hub for friendly chats and conversations.

SpainThere was nowhere to sit in the room and there were no mirrors. Whilst there were those facilities elsewhere in the hostel, both of these things would be much more convenient when getting ready, packing, etc

SingaporeThe upper bunk bed is enclosed except for a small opening on the side so you may feel like you are sleeping in a coffin at times. There is no air conditioning and no lift too.
Location is great. Bathroom is nice and big. Staff is nice and helped me carry my suitcase up 3 floors when I check in

IrelandThe breakfast it’s really messy place. I just don’t understand how it works. The location of the rooms it was like a maze. The guy from reception was feeling lazy maybe just I didn’t like the welcome. Also, it was really annoying the sound of seagulls all night long! I carry my own earplugs with me and even with them on! And it was a non stop noise and so loud! I know this is nothing they can do about it but… I wanted to say I couldn’t sleep for that.
It was clean and it was huge, rooms really tidy and organice, lots of space, you have your own small locker, nice curtains to block the light, the bathroom inside of the room was huge as well. Lost of space, the shower was nice as well. What surprise me is how clean it was. Own light and charging point in the beds. Really nice

CanadaKids daycare or park outside was very noisy. Sorted it with some earplugs though. It was also very hot at the top of the building where my room was and no elevator so quite the haul up four flights of stairs with luggage.

New ZealandNothing else is shown in the photos - Average kitchen facilities and not the cleanest, felt like we were in the way of more permanent guests that were staying there, so hot in the rooms, top bunk was built in a box, and very old smelling, many floors of stairs to climb to get anywhere, staff were ok
Good social area as shown in the photos

Czech RepublicFor some reason stuff decided to clean men shower-room on the both floors at the same time. Every time…
I enjoyed the three-store beds as I’ve never experienced it. It got pretty hot up there, but it was fun to climb up there every time. The locker is next to the bed and you need your own locker (or you can but it at the hostel). The social area is great.

United KingdomThe rooms were very hot, it was a warm weekend when we were there but there was no form of ventilation which wasn't great. It was also a fair walk to the bathrooms from the room we were in, even though the map said there should be a toilet right next to the room... and every morning at the exact time people are getting ready to go out the bathroom on our floor was being cleaned so we had to go elsewhere which was quite inconvenient
It was a quick walk into the city centre from the hostel and everywhere is walkable which is great! The beds were very comfortable, thick duvets and curtains for privacy, also really good to have a little cupboard you could lock for valuables. The staff were helpful at checkin and everything was very clean.

GermanyIt is overpriced for a hostel, +50Eur/night TROLOL, even if it is one of the cheapest options in the crazy overpriced Dublin. I would go there again if alternatives are around 200Eur/night or more.
Pros: - good fast WiFi - position is not far from the Central bus station and to the city centre - the 6 bed dorm was big enough and it had a bathroom, with shower, itself Not depending on the hostel: I got luck that my roommates were polite and silent, my sleep was ok.
