Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLacked a bit of atmosphere. Various bits of plumbing seemed to be out of order, although wasn't enough to cause real problems. Closed both gents bathrooms for cleaning at the same time in the morning which was a bit of a pain.

IrelandToo many stairs, no lift, carrying heavy luggage up 3 large and long flights of stairs is difficult. No wheelchair access and no mention of not having it. Kitchen had only microwaves to cook with. Heating was on day and night time so too warm in the bedrooms. I spoke to the staff about this 2 times but the weren’t interested in doing anything about the issue. Only 1 useable male toilet cubicle available for the whole house. No hot water from taps, cold only! Senior staff members, or maybe they are called executive staff, visited one day to either inspect the building or attend for some other reason/issue, were actually rude and quiet ignorant to the guests. I was shocked by this and as I witnessed their attitude towards the residents I found it very off putting. Why should they think or act that they are better than the people who stay there and spend their money on expensive and overpriced hostel rooms, which essentially pays the salaries of these staff member’s of Who then in turn act with some air of superiority, how dare they. I just do not see why any hostel should allow an antediluvian system of hierarchy to be used in the framework of how it is run and being organised. This was a massive put off for me and I would also think for anyone else who witnessed this behaviour or at least know of its existence.

PortugalThere was no or very little water the night I spend there. There no apology or return of part of the money nor offer to change rooms. Very disappointing.
format of beds, in pods with curtains, giving you privacy and letting less light in if someone turns on the lights. It also has a box at the head of the table for your valuables that you can lock with a padlock.

RomaniaThe bed received was covered with an opening at the head; the other beds had normal lateral openings with curtains; while i'm not usually claustrophobic, it did feel unpleasant before sleeping; would have felt nice to know before making the reservation
Nice hostel, near the center of Dublin, good price for location; the social areas were nice;

United StatesThere was no elevator in the building so if you are traveling with heavy bags and you want those bags with you in the room, you will have to carry them up the flights of stairs. I understand that most buildings in Dublin don't have an elevator. It's a well-renovated building though which I was impressed with.
I liked the location of the property to the main downtown area. I loved that it was quiet in the room that I stayed in so I slept well. The mattress was comfortable, the sheets were clean. There was a locker that fit nearly everything I put in it. They had a storage room for my luggage so I didn't have to carry it up 4 long flights of stairs. I just transferred what I needed and what I wanted with me into bags that I usually carry for shopping and transferred them back before I checked out.

Israelunfortunately there was a case today in which there was a need to move my things to a different room. no matter what cause to this circumstances its my private things, therefore along the day i should be informed, but i didn't, there was no messages from the hotel to me. and this is upsetting. also the guy who works this night was not aware, was not informed! that my things was actually placed somewhere in reception. lucky he search and find it. and they weren't arranged nicely btw. another thing relating to booking.com , they send so many mails for every reservation that probably if i got some important message there is a good chance i would have missed it. but anyway a message was not sent, and i returned to the hostel late at night to deal with that. the guy at the reception though was helpful and understanding.
comfortable. clean. good kitchen. nice room for playing which located away from the rooms. nice staff.

TurkeyThis is a terrible hostel. The staff has created like a gangsta internally. They behave so rude the new people ,however they behave so friendly to their brazilian friends who speak Portuguese. Cleaning staff is closing all toilets at same time in early morning . So someone used one free woman toilet because of we were caught short. The staff has refused our stay at hostel because of this so called reason. I will also contact with owner. Because staff just makes decisions themselves and give bad reputation to this hostel.
Nothing.

KenyaFriend didn’t get visa and wouldn’t let me cancel so paid for an extra bed. Wouldn’t even give me a lock (worth 8 pounds) for the extra 200 spent. There are hotels where you can get your own room in the area for the same price, not worth staying at at all.
