Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThere’s no lift! So it’s an absolute nightmare to get your luggage up the long flights of stairs, especially if you are staying on the third floor. So bring little luggage – in fact, don’t bring any luggage at all because just getting yourself up the stairs is a difficult challenge. Everyone I met there complained that there was no lift. Whatever you do, don’t stay in room 00. There is no toilet or bathroom on that floor. So if you need the loo in the middle of night, prepare for a trek up to the second floor or down to the basement. In that room, it’s also filthy dirty between the coffin beds and the walls. I saw a used condom and nearly gagged!! I couldn’t even put my bag down so I slept with it on my bed. Don’t stay there in autumn, spring and winter or in fact, whenever it’s cold which are many days in the Irish summer. The hostel is in a very old building which only has single glazed windows, windows that don’t close properly, drafts from every direction and dark rooms. The kitchen and eating area down in the basement are cold even in the summer on the warmest days.

IrelandThe hostel is located in a very, very bad area. It’s just off Parnell Street which is infamous for drug dealing, drunks and danger. So do not venture out in the evening / night unless you want to be stabbed or robbed!! You will also have to dodge the vomit in the streets which is a results of people drinking too much alcohol. If you are hoping to meet Irish people (as one would visiting Ireland) in the hostel, you’ve got very little chance. They only hire Brazilians to work there as the owners are Brazilian. This is against Irish employment law to not hire any Irish citizens. They also take preference to Brazilian guests. If the hostel is full, they’ll first accommodate the Brazilians before any other nationality. This is racist and biased. Don’t sleep past 7am if you don’t want to be woken up by noisy construction works across from the hostel at the back. This carries on all day long from Monday to Friday. You will hear a lot of jack hammers which is the loudest of construction equipment as they are demolishing before they rebuild.

IrelandThere are always people smoking marijuana in the garden area at the back. You can even buy it in the hostel from the other guests. This is illegal in Ireland and the staff know about it but just turn a blind eye. Also, the garden area at the back is always dirty. Littered with cigarette butts, rubbish, empty beer bottles and used mugs. The overflowing ashtrays are never cleaned except by the guests. So if you don’t smoke, don’t venture into the back garden, it’s very unpleasant. In all the time I was there, the cleaners only cleaned the garden area once.

CroatiaNothing to report!
Hostel receptionists were welcoming and kind. I most enjoyed the cosy bed! Most fluffy cover and most comfortable bed I could have imagined! I like the sense of security I felt in the hostel (they have a night guard) and cleanliness.

AustraliaSome staff were quiet rude and unhelpful on the desk. If you’re on the top bunk of three, it is quite scary and dangerous trying to climb down in the morning with your stuff. Can get very hot in beds with limited airflow.
Beds were very private. Croke Park was a five minute walk away so I could hear Coldplay playing from bed.

JapanMy friend and I spent one night on the top bunk of a triple bunk bed. I was really glad it was only for one night. Unlike the other two beds below, the top bunk was surrounded by plywood on all sides, with access via a ladder at the foot side of the bed. Although there was a small window on the long side of the bed, it was incredibly hot and stuffy. I couldn’t sleep at all.

New ZealandPoor service and terrible facilities, no where to safety put bags in the room and very limited space, and super overcrowded. The top bunk is like a coffin with a tiny breathing hole so I opted not to stay there for all of these reasons. No reasoning and no partial refund offered even after explaining the situation. Terrible service.

IrelandEverything was wonderful and beautiful except for the employee (Alfredo). He was so bad, he found a problem for every solution. I recommend that the administration talk to him and look into his matter, and if he does not improve his behavior, they expel him because he gives a bad impression of the place. Thank you.
The accommodation was comfortable and the place was very clean. Everything was very nice I want to thank the manager (YAN) for helping us I want to thank the reception staff JO AO BIANCA

United KingdomI didn't realise there was no lift. I had a room on the 3rd floor, so this was a bit problematic for me, as I'm not as fit as once was! I was advised i could leave my bags in the luggage room, but I needed to repack my things b4 taking the boat home. Otherwise, there were no other issues.
Great size room nice comfortable bunk bed plenty of place to store your valuables. Perfect for a short stop or even a few nights I'm guessing would be fine. The shower was lovely and warm & powerful too; refreshing after a long day's travelling. The hostel is very well located for sightseeing and I'll definitely come back one day when I'm next in Dublin.
