Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Perfect location and a lot cleaner than many hostels I’ve stayed at - didn’t smell stuffy like others do.

Typical large scale hostel. I was in a 14 bed dorm which I think is a record for me. Although the one night I stayed was quieter than in other smaller hostel dorms. The bed however was not very comfortable and there was only one bathroom and toilet for the dorm. Good value and OK for a night. I might have had breakfast if it started earlier than 8am. You have to pay extra for towels and locker .

Room bed and sizes, it's was different than photo
Actually in the picture we have seen that the room occupied with one bed, the room and toilet size was very small.it was not much good as expected

I’m aware it was St Patrick’s day but I even so it was pricey. The last night the was very noisy. Lots of stomping and door slamming. Tbh it was so loud I as single female traveler was scared. I never heard any staff trying to sort it out. When I asked in the morning I was told I was the buildings. Sounded more than that
The staff were helpful. The coffee and hot chocolate was delicious. Room was a good size, clean and comfy by hostel standards and warm. Towels were a good size a real plus point.

The size of the room doesn't give a chance to have a cupboard or shelf in it.
The staff was incredibly nice and helpful.

You have to choose spend less or sleep well. Hostel is very clean and staff is nice but very noisy because of knocking of the door people's steps and laut speaking of people in the rooms next to you. We didn't sleep all night. Also there is one cabine of WC on the floor and need to wait about 30 minutes to come in. There is another one between floors but cabine is for both genders . So you man entries WWCC and see women come out from shower. But anyway, the hostel is modern clean. Very good location 5 minutes walk from main Bus Station of the Cork.

The beds weren’t the most comfortable but they were perfect for a night. The taps were very powerful which took us by surprise but after we’d soaked the bathroom once we learnt how to use it carefully.
Great value for money and fantastic location. We felt really safe and the staff were friendly and helpful. The desk is covered 24 hours which was perfect for our late night adventure in Cork. It was just what we needed for a spontaneous fun girly weekend.

Room was great and did the job. However, the shower door was very stiff to open/close and the shower basin was blocked and filled up with water very quickly.
Very good location within the city. Clean and beds were very comfy.

Rooms are too small, with no storage space. My friend and I booked a room for two, it was alright. But otherwise, you would not have any privacy and security. I will consider this place to come back only if I'm booking a room for two of us or If I'll but completely broke.
Comfy beg. Great option for staying overnight for a low price.

My 2nd night there were loads of young students, it was hard to get around the kitchen and cook dinner on the 2nd night. Also they were on the same floor as me and they were a bit loud. They're were up and about the next morning at 6 am. A lot of banging doors in and out at night and early morning.
Like the room. The kitchen set up was brilliant.

The room was very small and the walls are very thin. I was in a room that got a lot of foot traffic and was kept awake by the noise out in the hall.

some staff were a bit blunt and i was not prepared to walk up such a steep hill on icy paths

Not always ideal when you have to get up for work. Bring earplugs. Staff are all lovely except one crank.
Stay here for work from time to time, it’s fairly comfortable and very affordable.
