Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandFood. Was terrible
We loved our little break there. Staff and room were lovely. Unfortunately the food was absolutely awful. Evening meal of medium rare steak was so over cooked it was terrible. My salmon was tired and along with mash and veg tasted as if reheated. Breakfast OK but swimming in a pool of oil. Staff were so nice we didn't complain but if we return it will be for room only.

We spent 2 nights at Abbeyleix and found the room extremely comfortable, staff exceptional and food and beverage reasonably priced and delicious. This Hotel was very close to the entry to the big walk, which we did twice because it was such a beautiful and tranquil walk. Very interesting history in Abbeyleix...we highly recommend the village and the beautiful hotel.

IrelandLacking a few "do not disturb" signs. Housekeeping allowed herself in while I was undressing for a shower, pretty awkward, even though we weren't checking out for another 24 hours. Second morning she allowed herself in again, without knocking, again. 2 hours before check out?! And again was met by an awkward glare.....bit random and weird!
Comfortable beds, nice breakfast.

IrelandI thought it was a hotel not a b&b you pay that bit extra in a hotel so you can just walk out and leave it to the cleaners that's their job that's what their being paid for! I have stayed in top class, 5 star hotels, and my son who is special needs have offend swing from the curtains and they say its fine. But when I left the room there was not a thing wrong with the roo. And there was nothing broken. My son was using my phone on departure out the door and had dropped it in the room going out when we went back in get the phone back this guy in a t-shirt would not give it bk saying he want 150 for the room. Because there was a few biscuits on the floor. Excuse me what are u paying the cleaners for. I didn't think in a HOTEL u had to make beds and clean up. I didn't have monet on me all I had was €20.55c in change n about €32 in my card what I had was to feed my kids on the was home and he took that. Also when I was putting in my pin for my card he wouldn't let go of the machine and he looked at my pin. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! It's not a family hotel it's a b&b rooms are standard B&B. Stay in Midlands Park Hotel if your staying anywhere it's only over the road from there same pricing but the rooms are outstanding and the service are even better 💯we would've stayed there if a family room was available.
The breakfast was lovely but like ots not like we got it for free we paid for it. The room was OK but it was very dated, seeing as the rest of the hotel was so modern I was expecting like wow for the room but no, and there was like a damp smell from the room when we arrived like it hadn't been used for awhile, we weren't going to say anything about this but the way we were treated the following morning was atrocious.
