Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SloveniaI didn’t expect luxury for the price, but this hostel was truly shocking. Cleanliness was non-existent—everything was dirty, smelly, and downright disgusting. The room itself was okay in size, but the window didn’t seal properly, so it was freezing cold and drafty all night. The bed was so filthy that I woke up puffy and uncomfortable every morning. The atmosphere was equally unsettling, with very strange guests who made the place feel more like a shelter than a hostel. It was impossible to feel relaxed or safe. Overall, this was by far the worst hostel experience I’ve ever had. Avoid at all costs!

IrelandThe Apache Hostel should be **regulated and closed down** due to its unacceptable conditions. The lack of cleanliness, cold temperatures, and absence of proper ventilation create an unhealthy environment for guests. This reflects poorly on the tourism industry in Ireland and Dublin, highlighting a need for stricter regulations and inspections. It's disappointing that such establishments can operate without adequate oversight, tarnishing the reputation of Ireland as a welcoming tourist destination. Immediate action is essential to ensure that all hostels meet basic health and safety standards for visitors.
I had a terrible experience at Apache Hostel. The place was **absolutely disgusting**—cold, dirty, and reeking of unpleasant odors. The lack of windows or proper ventilation made it feel claustrophobic and stuffy, which was unbearable. The bathrooms were filthy, and the overall hygiene was appalling. I felt unsafe and uncomfortable throughout my stay, and I strongly advise anyone considering this hostel to **avoid it at all costs**. It’s not worth the money or the health risks associated with such a neglected environment.

TaiwanDown stairs is a pizza restaurant and it’s so dirty when you go down and you can not have a good place to put your luggage or to take a rest. Because they don’t have lounge, so the only thing you can do when back to hostel is to stay at your room.
The location is really really good.

Portugalthe beds are horrible, just too old. there's no sign to identify the hostel. There was a guy living there for 2 years, he stank so bad and he felt like he owned the room. Don't trust the pictures, they are old. There's no terrace!!
the location was good, and that's the ONLY positive aspect.

United StatesNot necessarily a dislike, but it’s paired with the pizzeria next door of the same name. The staff from the pizzeria may have to come grab you if the receptionist is out.
Fantastic location! Right by the Temple bar district but not on an actual bar street and super close to a Spar grocery store. A simple place but a great value.

GermanyI had a very disappointing experience at this hostel. Upon arriving at 11 PM, I was only allowed into my room two hours later because my key had been mistakenly assigned to another guest. It's incredibly frustrating to wait so long for a bed after a long journey. The room I was placed in had no windows, which created a very uncomfortable atmosphere. Additionally, the bathroom was not clean – definitely unacceptable for a hostel. When I attempted to check in again on another day, I realized that I had booked for the wrong day. I politely asked for a room and requested a cancellation with a refund, as the hostel could now rent my originally booked bed for a significantly higher price. Unfortunately, I received no response. After the disappointing experience of my first night, I had hoped for some accommodation from the hostel, but that was not the case. Overall, I cannot recommend this hostel. It lacks organization, cleanliness, and customer service.

It's a cheap hostel but it is IN the middle of everything. We popped in to change / sleep, it was comfortable & for the area compared to hotels price wise was good. It was just what we needed for a boozy weekend.

AustraliaWe opted for late check in however no one was there to let us in. We were standing in the street with all our belongings until a fellow guest opened the door for us and a worker from the pizza place next door gave us our key.
The location was very convenient and central. Only a 5-10 minute walk to Temple bar and other restaurants. The room was very spacious and the shared facilites were well kept.
