Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The air conditioning didn’t seem to work and we overheated in the beds, even though they were very luxurious and comfy.
Very clean, modern motel. Good that a continental breakfast was provided. Great restaurant recommendations from the staff!

This lodge advertised as a B&B but when I got up in the morning to have breakfast they told me I couldn’t have breakfast because I was room only. Nowhere on bookings.com does it say you are getting room only on a bed breakfast place. I was very disappointed in this lodge. Plus the pictures on the site are misleading this room is very tiny. About the size of my spare bedroom at home. The tv is about a 26 inch and is very old images are messed up. There is barely room to walk around the twin and full bed and very limited place to put your bags. The bathroom is in the corner of the room with a corner shower and pedestal sink and toilet. The walls and trim have been painted and repainted many times. No Air conditioning, said to leave the windows open for the breeze, but no screens. Walls are so thin we could hear the guy next snoring and talking. No I would not recommend the lodge. I think bookings.com mislead us on this one.

The breakfast was not satisfying.
Staff was really friendly. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Only 5min walking distance to the city center. Free car parking.

The breakfast is inedible. If this hotel were to sort out their breakfast offering, it would be one of the best in the area. We had to go out to get breakfast because what they offered at the hotel was so bad.
Location was great as it is far enough out of the town centre to offer parking, but close enough to easily walk into the centre.

Didn’t really look how it did when I was booking it. We expected it to be bigger and more facilitated.

This was a great location, walkable to Kilarney. My only complaint was no coffee was provided in room and we were told the coffee downstairs was available 24/7. We get up early to beat the crowds and the coffee room was locked both mornings we were there.

Receptionist was rude (may be passive aggressive) because he didn't like it the fact that we reached hotel at midnight, 3 hr later than intended. But we were on road trip (precise arrival time is sometimes difficult to commit) - but he was nice enough to realize that and apologized in the morning. No harm done. Overall super convenient location and big rooms. Parking at the property. I'd stay here again.

Lugging three flight of stairs with two pieces of heavy luggage. The room was quite noisy with both inside and outside noises. This is a budget hotel with no air condition, safe, fridge or the usual amenities found in hotel with this level of pricing (had to request shampoo). Breakfast was quite limited.
Monica who checked us in was quite pleasant and helpful with information. Free parking and location proximity to downtown Killarney.

we mistakenly thought the check out time was 12 instead of 11:30 and a male member of staff spoke v rudely to us despite us leaving straight away when confronted. Disappointing after spending the wknd there and having a good experience otherwise

No room service. Also not enough room to hang towels to dry to be reused. Place has very thin walls.. can hear everything. Our sheets were also stained

Room was hot at night time but besides that I liked everything else!
The location was amazing. Very short walk from centre. The room was very clean and well furnished. Constant hot water. Would definitely recommend. The staff were so lovely as well.

This was definitely one of the most comfortable places we stayed in our 10 days in Ireland. The whole place was spotless and bed was by far the most comfortable and shower had best water pressure and again was spotless. Sad that we only had one night here. It was a Monday night and we could not hear any noise from others staying here. Very nice selection of breakfast items in the morning, and we would absolutely recommend this place! What a gem!

Modern room and building with exterior car parking for free. Well located, at 5 minutes walking distance from everything. Super clean, one of the best during our trip in Ireland. They also had a light breakfast available, self-service in a community space. A really nice surprise, totally recommend!
