Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThere are about 3-4 small dogs so expect some barking during the day, but it is quiet at night. If you’re in a dorm next to the street it can wake you up early.
Lovely hostel with a good vibe. Good kitchen for cooking and bed curtains in the rooms for privacy. Felt clean and sheets were comfortable.

IrelandThe Shower. I've been to over 100 accommodations across Europe, and the shower in this hostel was the WORST. Nearly catastrophe. 1. Fixed shower head, which I hate most. But that's fine, it is bearable. Cos I understand it is not something that can be fixed or improved. 2. Extremely cramped. You can't even stretch your arms. I couldn't even dry my body since the shower room was too small, but it was still bearable. I AM ABLE TO understand the hostel can not fix it. 3. No way will you be able to put your things anywhere in the shower room. No shelves, no hangers, but just the dirty floor. I asked one staff 'Could you place at least a tiny chair or something in order to put my stuff on that', and she said just 'No', without any explanation or excuse. I think this point can not be tolerated. It is the only thing that you CAN improve your shower room, and you immediately refuse! 4. Furthermore, the water was too hot. It was more than boiling! And you can not adjust the temperature, but just bear it. And my skin couldn't do it, so I got burned. 5. And lastly, but not least, on the last day I stayed here, I couldn't use water at all. I guess something to do with the use of water was broken, so I could not use any water there. Not only for the shower, but also for the toilet!

CanadaIt was quite dusty in the locker under the bed, my clothes were dirty under there. Lack of dishtowels in the kitchen:they smelled bad and werent washed as I was there for 3 days. Not enough hooks for the beds in the corner of the room so only a towel per person could be hung and there was no railing to do a makeshift clothes line.
Loved the mattress, the bathroom on the second (third) floor, the breakfast was decent. Super well situated.

United KingdomI wasn't aware that I needed my own lock to secure my luggage in the provided locker space, and I only found that out when I arrived. The person who checked me in said they would tell me where to buy a lock but never did. The whole place had an off-smell. I was met with barking dogs when I first entered, which I wasn't expecting and triggered my anxiety. The sheets on the bed were incredibly itchy. I was unfortunate to be staying with other people who got up at 3am opening the door and heavy footsteps - no fault of the property but didn't help with me in my experience. I woke up feeling icky, the building has damp issues. I was supposed to stay for 3 nights but I only stayed for 1, stayed elsewhere for the 2nd night, handed in my key early and stayed elsewhere for the 3rd. Quite disappointed. I stayed in another place the night before coming here, and that place was perfect. Perhaps hostels aren't for me.
I liked that the bunk beds were bigger than I expected, and the curtains for privacy.

MalaysiaThere is someone not very pleasant in the hostel but I'm not sure he is a staff or people who stays there. (using the kitchen)
It's in the centre of the town, the other side from bus/train station but Killarney is small and walkable. Good energy for a hostel.

RussiaFirst of all the room had a glass wall facing the common dining area. There was a decent curtain. But the wall at the same time is the only window in the room. So you get either privacy or some light. The heater in the room was not working which was okay for us at the time. There was no wardrobe in the room wich made our 3 days stay not so comfortable. Bathroom is super big but the space was kinda useless because there was nothing to place our toiletries on. No cabinet, no shelf. There were two hooks but they were not attached properly to the wall so it was challenging to use them. So the only storage was a tiny cloudy window (also facing common area) above the toilet… which had no lid! I was waking up because people upstairs were walking and I could hear every step quite loudly. All that above would be perfectly fine if the price would be lower. We came to Killarney the from a hotel in Dublin city center which had absolutely everything we didn’t get in the hostel + an ironing board in every room but costed almost the same money.
Me and my partner were staying in the private room with ensuite bathroom. The room was clean and big and the bed was comfortable (very soft mattress though). Staff was exceptionally friendly. Hostel is equipped with a nice living room and has it’s own garden. There is a coffee shop right inside the reception wich is open every day since 7am and the coffee is really decent! Overall very pleasant place.

IrelandCould do with new flooring as slats loose here and there and very squeaky in room. Maybe bit more of a general clean like doors etc. Small table in room would have been good to put stuff on.
Staff fantastic and helpful. Loved laidback and professional attitude. Breakfast was great, cereal homemade bread, fruit, yoghurt, etc all fab! Felt safe and would definitely choose if I was a lone traveller. Chill out room with open fire so comfortable. Shower good too.

CroatiaRoom felt stuffy & dusty, key wouldn't open straight away, no towel. Hens & ducks in the garden are locked in a small, dark cage which is completely unacceptable. Dogs (which are cute but not perfect Hygiene to have them living inside the hostel) on the other hand have a sort of a shrine in the kitchen, it's bizarre.
Central location, right next to national park entrance. Library and back garden were super cosy. Nice staff.

IsraelThere were not enough toilets and showers which made it difficult and unpleasant. Also the showers were really small and there was no room to put personal equipment. Some of the staff were not very pleasant and it clouded the atmosphere.
The hostel was beautiful and some of the staff were nice. The common space was likable. The hostel is close to the park which is the main advantage of the hostel.I loved that the facility encourages environmental protection.
