Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Room lights were bundled in too few switches, I.e. individual lamps other than the bed reading lights could not be selected. That made for too much light or too dark a room.

The hotel is in amazing location, we walked everywhere it was so handy. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, everyone was so happy to help. The room is perfect size and really clean- huge beds! Breakfast was also incredible, and had a small lunch which was great. We will definitely be back on our next stay! Thank you so much for an amazing visit.

The room which was a deluxe twin was so small, and only one chair for someone to sit in. I did not see the point of electric doors. I felt it was slightly over priced.
Very clean and friendly staff. It’s in a great location in the heart of everything but very quiet street. A fantastic breakfast was included and also the SPA treatment was very good and great facilities.

I didn't like the awkwardness of the parking and having to pay for it. I think €270 is alot for one night although it was luxurious, parking should be free

Didn't like the tea in the room, and only creamers provided - would prefer milk.
Facilities, and quality of the features within the room was exemplary. Reception was very well presented, and staff were very friendly. Would prefer the curtain to remain closed when opening the room door - it's pointless at night the curtain opening to be instantly closed again.

Lovely hotel in a quite street, but very central within walking distance to everywhere we wanted to visit. Good breakfast. Realy helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable. Great 3 day stay. Will stay again on our next visit.

For the price, I would have expected a bit more spacious room. Our room was under the bar and it could be noisy at times.

We had a balcony but unfortunately the door was locked we told the reception they would get it opened but this did not happen we would have liked some fresh air since we stayed 3 nights.
Great central location but very quiet. Very clean, good beds, parking nearby, expensive but excellent breakfast

My friend had a different schedule than me and woke up earlier. He tried to leave the room but a few moments after leaving the lights in the room would all turn on and the curtain would open. We tried using the do not disturb option in the room but that did not fix the issue. This happened a couple of days. The staff did not know how to resolve that.
New, clean, friendly staff. We enjoyed the spa area several times. Great location.

The room could have been a touch larger.
I picked The Chancery mainly because of the location, which did turn out to be excellent, but the room, the staff, and the restaurant all turned out to be excellent as well.

The electronic lock to the bathroom door failed twice resulting in both my partner and myself being unable to get out for around 10 minutes in each case (she got locked in on Sunday night, I got locked in on Monday morning as we were leaving to catch our flight. You could hear the dorr trying to open but just constantly clicking. The reception staff I reported it to said it needed resetting from there, however had someon been on their own and then locked in there is no way of contacting reception from inside the bathroom so they would have been trapped.
The hotel was in the perfect location and the staff were super friendly. We arrived early but a room was available so we were able to check in with no fuss (or charge)

I thought the receptionist could have been more helpful in regards where to park etc but she was pleasant. I think the website could be clearer about parking also, we parked in Drury Street Parking and then hotel told us this carpark was not one they had an agreement with so we wouldn't get a discount rate, we were told to move it to Christchurch carpark. If this was made clearer on web page it would be better.
The rooms were super modern and extremely comfortable, great selection on TV and lovely tea/coffee making facilities, Really quiet room for such a central location. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Our room was not spacious. Our kids occuped a second twin room that was bigger and confortable
