Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaWe felt disrespected upon arriving because rather than being asked if staff could take our bags, they were literally snatched from our hands regardless of our insisting 'NO'. We had been traveling for 3 weeks with one piece of carry-on luggage and preferred to hold onto them. We also don't want someone to 'deliver' them to our room once we are checked on.....or to have that individual load them on racks or whatever and explain the features of the room. That concept is ridiculous for experiencesd travellers. When the staff almost pushed their way into our room in spite of our protests, l was trapped in the bathroom as the room was so tiny inspite of it being a 'signature queen'. Plus we felt it was overkill to have 4 men at the front door on occasion to open it. Restaurant food was disappointing.
The location was very good and the room.was quiet...although the window blind broke almost immediately. And we had excellent service when departing the hotel.

To get two twin beds for over 700 US Dollars a night is outrageous!!!!! My mother and I were stuck in a tiny room. The River Lee Hotel in Cork was far superior for 300 US Dollars a night. You got two queen beds with a room twice the size. Their restaurant was incredible. Their breakfast was incredible and included in the price.

United KingdomOur room smelt of ingrained smoke. The staff were apologetic when we reported this, and advised that it has had recent refurbishment and smoking is now not allowed. But It still had that unpleasant aroma of old, ingrained cigarette smoking. Very sad if that can't be eradicated, or of thad returned since the refurbishment, clearly smoking detectors are needed.
Staff friendliness and location were great.

United StatesI would suggest that the concierge work on being more attentive with suggestions and during check-in. When a guest arrives, you can assume they have traveled and are tired. They don’t want scrap pieces of paper with random names for places to eat. Also, maybe just offer folks water or tea while they are checking in. When you clean the rooms for a guest staying more than a night, add the milk, coffee, water, and sugar so they don’t have to keep asking. Refreshing the hand soap each day is unnecessary, but coffee, milk, and sugar are 100% essential. The food via room service was good.
Being excited to stay at a five-star hotel, my expectations were really high. The rooms were great, and the sheets were so soft and comfy. I LOVED the tub.

United KingdomBath wasn't working. Showers available, though When I pay good money you expect the bath to at least be working. Especially after being out and walking all day. 5 star hotel. Though I have stayed in better 3 star. Not worth the money we payed. Will not be back.
Staff were very well mannered.

South AfricaReally slow wifi, uncomfortable bed, aircon not working on the first night, front desk and concierge staff were neither helpful nor friendly. small room, tiny shower, smelly towels, minibar lacking, room service food was average at best (ordered a sourdough toastie which came on plain white bread). No small touches or refinement of any kind. Front desk didn't even ask how our stay was at checkout, let alone offer water or coffee or any assistance. Not sure how they managed to get a 5 star rating, but this doesn't even deserve 4 in my opinion. Management, you leave much to be desired for a 'prime' property. Train your staff (and perhaps yourself) in HOSPITALITY for goodness sake, or hire someone who can.
Location was great, coffee and staff in the restaurant were wonderful.

IrelandIt was ok, but we did expect much more from iconic 5 star hotel in Dublin. Small room ( nice though), staff definitely could be more client focused. We didn’t have hot water in the room at night. And we got very upset not having a bath.
