Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThey did not advise dinning finish time upon checking in, nor was it mentioned in information pack. 1945 was finish time and we missed it. Disappointed as had lunch earlier and was delicious
Bed was comfortable, room was cool which was great as very hot weather.

IrelandOur rooms were compact enough. Parts of the hotel were lovely but parts felt a little tired/ maybe in need of a freshen up.
Great price point. Beautiful views over the sea. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the beach/cove area and there's a lovely park across the road. Waterford is only around 20 mins by car so it's a convenient stay for commitments in the city too. Breakfast was top class. Service was excellent. We were helped with luggage on arrival etc. - nothing was too much trouble. Check out is quite late which was very handy too.

IrelandNot enough parking especially for people staying at the hotel. Designated parking would be nice. There were spider webs and a massive spider in the room.

United KingdomWe found our rooms and particularly the en-suite shower rooms to be too small. There are a selection of rooms of different sizes and with different views, so any negative comments here are only related to the one we stayed in, and as it was just one night it was not a big deal.
For lovers of a older buildings in beautiful locations this is one to try. The location is right, the building impressive, the staff friendly and plentiful. Irish hospitality at its best. The food in the restaurant was of very good quality and quantity and freshly cooked breakfast with table service is always appreciated.

IrelandI did request a room away from service areas and received an e-mail back from the hotel stating that they could ensure my request was met. I then got a room with the boiler house beside it and the noise was awful but this was sorted by the maintenance man and the room was no longer noisy with the water boiler.
Great location, very helpful friendly staff, food was very good for dinner and breakfast. I will definitely return

United KingdomThe bedrooms are a little on the small side, OK if not spending too much time there.
The Haven is a charming hotel beautifully situated in Dunmore East with fine sea views. The food was excellent- we eat lunch, dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Dinner was a highlight- I had delicious fresh fish of the day.

United StatesI didn’t like that a few of the younger gals who served the food were very slow to greet people as they arrived and to take someone’s order including mine. They weren’t very clued in to customer service. They could maybe just use a little training to be more attentive? Everyone else was great. I also didn’t like that the window washers came in the morning. I took a later shower and was uncomfortable that the bathroom window is not private enough. I contrived a privacy towel blocking the view. EEK!
Gorgeous location. I was in the extra building (garden room). I liked being out there as it was a little quieter. The buildings are incredible and beautiful. The check in ladies were very kind and helpful. The room was lovely. The bed was comfortable and they had water and coffee tea maker in my room which was very nice!

IrelandI was very disappointed with a request they could not meet . Very simple but yet not done😳 it was a special occasion for my Husband’s Birthday I asked for a Birthday Plate for the room on arrival but that was not possible . Very simple slice of cake on a plate with Happy Birthday In Chocolate sauce . First time ever that was refused in any hotel when requested for a Special Occasion. Little things mean a lot . When you pay €172 a night what’s a slice of cake on a plate 😳
Breakfast good . Location great. Outdoor patio area lovely with nice views
