Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesStaff. Manager Debora was the absolute best! So helpful, fun engaging conversations. Breakfast was great! I personally loved the coffee... my own little press. Location was perfect, not in the center of everything, close enough to walk in wither direction for food and shopping. Our 2 night stay was restful and exactly what we needed.

IrelandThere are only 2 or 3 parking spaces at the Nest and clamping in operation around salt hill, we ended up parking at the public car park in salt hill which was free but a bit of a walk just something to note if your driving!
Super comfy bed, great location and excellent value for money

AustriaNothing reallly
The privacy curtains were extremely satisfactory (they wouldn't let much light in), clean bathroom with bodywash and shampoo + two fluffy towels (one big, one small), located near the city but not too loud- right by the sea.

CanadaIt was the most expensive place per night that we stayed in our entire Ireland/ Scotland trip and it was the only hostel we stayed in
Property was big. Great location for downtown or the Salthill promenade. Laundry facilities on property but you have to pay 6€ and breakfast is available but again 8€. We were in the female only and there’s always a risk that the other people aren’t respectful and we had that. Staff were super helpful and friendly

United StatesOne of the main reasons we chose this property was the listed on-site parking. They did not tell us this early on, but the parking is first come, first served. There are only 4-5 spaces for cars and one additional accessible spot. They filled up quickly and when we got back from town that night and asked the woman at the front desk for advice on where we could go to park, she was very snippy with us. It would be helpful to let guests know parking is not guaranteed and have options displayed for where else to find parking if not in the hotel’s 4 spaces.
Cute spot, great spaces for working and thoughtful free add-ons such as water and tea in the common area downstairs. Close enough to take a stroll into downtown or also some of the coffee shops and pubs closer to Salthill.

AustriaAll could be bigger, but I guess so would be the price and it's a hostel not a hotel afterall.
Lovely little hostel, cozy little rooms, enchanting little fairy lights, strong little shower, tasty little breakfast, friendly little staff, all very charming! The space is utilized efficiently. Love the nature and forest design throughout the building. We were satisfied and would stay there again.

IrelandAnother guest had a radio on nonstop, which could be heard through his door. I asked for a room change, which was given without hesitation. Usually guests are very quiet.
Love the Nest and would stay every time I'm in Galway if it wasn't frequently full. I always stay in a private room, so I can't comment on shared. The kitchen is well equipped and spotless, there's a posh food shop across the road selling tasty pre made meals. The seating area downstairs near reception is very chilled and comfortable.

United KingdomNothing it was great! It was nicer and cleaner than most hotels we’ve stayed in and might be our favourite hostel!
The room was spotless! The hostel was located right next to the beach and only a short walk into town everything was perfect for our weekend away. The second morning we paid for breakfast as we had a earlier flight. It was great value for money and everything was refilled every 10 minutes or so by staff to make sure there was a great selection the warm croissants were our personal favourite.
