Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. We had a great time until it came to the breakfast on the final morning. One of our party had special dietary requirements. Eventually after going through everything and finding there was very little on the menu that could be ordered, we asked would it be possible to just order a plain omelette. The waitress came back to say the chef was not prepared to do it. The young waitress whether through embarrassment was rude and the atmosphere at breakfast did spoil for me what had been a good trip.

The room was smaller than expected, but was perfectly acceptable
Set in a great location, what an amazing pub, such atmosphere! The food was good, shame we had to eat it in our room and isolate from other guests because of covid. The staff were all very helpful and kind to us. Breakfast was good, a great selection.

it did exactly what it said on the tin and then some, I wish we could have stayed longer.
Breakfast was excellent. It was served in the main pub area, very quirky, a lovely place to be. The staff were very friendly, and a special mention for Darcey who was outstanding. it is rare to experience a young lady who was highly efficient, very friendly and very professional all wrapped into one. She is a huge asset to this lovely venue. The pub is in an absolutely stunning location, the accommodation is new and to a very good standard. Overal, loved it. !

Cell reception is poor but that is not the properties fault.
Great location for hiking and site seeing. The pub food was so good!

Not much soundproofing between the rooms and unfortunately we had a very loud snorer next door but this is really the only complaint.
Food was delicious, we had our evening meal and breakfast, great choice and service. Live music was brilliant in the evening. Great craic the the barmen and other guests.

We should have been told in advance of our arrival that the electricity was going to be turned off the following morning.
Unfortunately we didn't get breakfast as ESB turned off their electricity at 10am as they were carrying out work. So ,we didn't have any lights in our bedroom nor could we use the kettle for a cuppa!! Nor could we even have a shower. I realise that this situation was out of the owner's control, but we were still charged the full rate. I felt we should have been given a reduced rate. The hospitality and evening meal was exceptional! Will definitely go back again and hopefully enjoy their breakfast!

Truly a unique place, a pub on the middle of some of the most gorgeous countryside in Donegal. where you can enjoy yourself with a great dinner and drinks, then walk over to your cruise cabin-like room for the night. The exceptional staff are super friendly and work hard to make sure you have a good time!

Did not realise bedroom was a prefab. Enjoyed the food & pub. We came to Teelin to climb Sliabh League but weather did not permit.
