Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRoom was a bit hot and damp. Bed was okay but no shelf or place to put things. No personal light. Quite a lot of stairs
Nice atmosphere. Good kitchen. luggage storage and laundry available. I've never seen a triple decker bunk before. Staff responded well to disability access request -lower bunk necessary.

CroatiaRooms are really small but it's rather normal in hostels
The service and communication were really good. A fully equipped kitchen, hand towels and soap in the bathroom were a pleasant surprise. Contrary to other hostels we've visited in Ireland, this one was very cosy and clean.

IrelandThe dorm was a fright. 8 beds crammed into a small space. People coughing, COVID breeding conditions. Thin hard beds and no privacy. One lucky bed had a chair by it, there was no safe surface to put anything on, my glasses fell on the floor and got scratched. No bath mat so the shower room floor was soaked. Very very basic dorm, beds not even against the walls.
The staff make it a great place. It's not disabled accessible, steep narrow stairs, but they arranged a lower bunk for me. I like the way the staff mix with the guests and cook bread in the kitchen, and their patience when I was down for breakfast at 6am. Delicious flapjacks for breakfast and limitless tea and coffee. A really good kitchen. Nice but small common room.

PolandNeighbourhood is noisy (there is a pub opposite and quite a lot of foot traffic (our window directly overlooked the street). The room was very cramped with two bunkbeds and very little storage space. The beds are very low, head injury hazard :) No mixer taps (except for the shower).
Large, well equipped kitchen and a comfy common room. Incredibly helpful staff. Good location, mid-way between the centre and the cathedral.

GermanyThe room was quite small and it wouldve been nice to have a small table or chair because the only possibility to sit was on the bed.
Nice cozy doublebedroom with private bathroom. Friendly staff at the reception. There is no "real" breakfast but you can take homemade bread and flapjacks from the kitchen. Also nice to have free access to the hostel kitchen and common area.

United StatesThe bed was really hard. But I was too tired for it to make a huge difference to my sleep.
First, that they were able to get us in on short notice when there was a mixup with our reservation at another location for the night. Second, the room had a private bathroom and was at the back of the hostel, very little traffic noise. Third, the location was great for walking parts of the city that we had wanted to visit. I have never stayed at a hostel before and was impressed by the facilities.

BrazilThe room is really tight. You can not even tight your own shoes without touching one of your 8 roommates. Really noisy, since it is close to pubs, felt like the street was passing inside the room.
It is central, and the staff is quite nice. The breakfast had fruits, bread and oats. Windows for fresh air in the room.

IrelandGot some lousy neighbours on the second night. The silence rule should be better observed among the guests. Not the hotel's fault and a minor detail in comparison with the amenities provided but, maybe finding an easier way to communicate with the reception late at night as it is located in the other building would help.
Nice breakfast with what looked like homemade bread and oatcake. The room was very comfortable and clean. The separate building for the hotel-like rooms was a pleasant surprise.

MaltaThe room while cozy was lacking regarding bedside outlets and reading lights which would have made the room more comfortable. Furthermore the bathroom was on the small side but managable. Although it didn't bother me there was no lift on site
The Woodquay Hostel is a centrally located budget accommodation which provides excellent value for money. The staff are helpful and free breakfast (soda bread - butter - jam - fruit - tea & coffee) was provided daily which is a nice touch. The communal areas are well maintained and the room clean and comfortable. The room was expectedly on the small side but was comfortable and had decent storage. The shower had great water pressure. All in all a great stay.
