Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

nothing. It couldn't be better.
This was a last minute booking when we turned down another booking due to concerns at the other booking. The front desk staff was attentive and friendly and helpful. The room was gorgeous! We had the most amazing breakfast and it was served as if we were staying in the finest hotel. We would choose to book here every time we come to Dublin. It is a special place.

Location was excellent on a quiet street but mere steps from Dublins attractions. We were able to leave our luggage and they promptly informed us via email and call when our room was available several hours before the advertised check in time. Just an excellent hotel where the staff went above and beyond. Also a very good breakfast. Plan to recommend this to anyone I know heading to Dublin.

We were in the basement and the smell of the aroma fixer was a bit strong.
Location. Quiet. Across street excellent Italian trattoria, art galleries and delicious coffee, salads and soup next door. Short walk to St Stephen’s Green, Trinity College and Grafton shopping street. Safe area.

Maybe a lift would be useful and the bathroom was quite narrow which made it a tad difficult to negotiate - also because the bed was so wide the bedside tables were quite small.
The Library st restaurant was great - food delicious

There is a discrepancy in the size of the rooms at the hotel. They are lovely but we had reserved 4 rooms, 3 of which were the same price and the other two rooms were quite a bit larger yet all the same price.
The location was fantastic and the hotel is charming. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. By far, our favourite hotel to date in Ireland.

Everything was great
The ambience was lovely. The hosts were very smiley and helpful. The room was great with plenty of toiletries in en-suite. The breakfast was very impressive with plenty to choose from and they made a great flat white coffee.

Stayed for 1 night with my sister, the room was lovely and clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect very close to Grafton street. Would definitely book again.

There was nothing we disliked. Everything was perfect!
Everything and everyone! What an incredible hotel that didn’t seem like a hotel. The beautiful room felt like a suite with all the amenities one could wish for including towel warmers. The breakfasts were amazing! Lots of variety, cooked perfectly, and presented beautifully. The staff is wonderful providing service graciously and cheerfully. Thank you Julia, Marco, Gau ( apologies for misspelling). I have been telling friends and family about Trinity Townhouse. We hope to return one day. Aloha! Your friends from Hawaii

A little noisy at night at times with the local restaurants emptying bins etc but that was to be expected given the central location.
Beautiful historic building, in a great location. Very friendly staff. We had the ‘Cosy ‘ room which was very small as advertised, but there was a clever use of space abs storage options and the bed was very comfy. The room was also very clean and there was everything you could need.

We really loved the location - so close and cental - everything within walking distance. The quaintness of the townhomes was wonderful and our room reflected a great deal of beauty in its styling which matched the townhomes. The breakfast each day was fabulous!
