Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandI was really looking forward to the hot tub, but it was too cold to use. The shower is in the kitchen...
Great location and friendly cat.

United KingdomThis is or was a family home converted into a place for people to stay. The bathroom, which is adjacent the kitchen is very small, this is the shower and the toilet and if someone is in the kitchen when you want a shower it could get interesting. I appeared to be the only person staying there so it wasn't a problem. Shower had lots of others gels and shampoos, but that could be an advantage if you forgot yours.
It was as expected from the reviews so a last minute booking on a budget it worked out. Firstly if you dont like cats (and smell of cats) this is not the place for you. But if you're fine with that it's OK. I was in a single room at the top, what was unusual was it had a UK 13 amp square type socket. I didn't see the cats. Arriving it was dark so needed the phone torch to follow the access instructions. WiFi worked OK. Not too far from transport links into the city though I decided to walk. I missed a flight connection so got the airport shuttle bus to Drumcondra and walked to the property from there and the reason for my stay. Many pictures of cats and cat ornaments.

GermanyThe room was very small. The toilet within the kitchen is a bit uncomfortable, but due to the limited space in the house.
It was cozy like staying in a friends home. The kitchen was very good equipped.

United KingdomThe floors were pretty filthy, had stains and crumbs on them - there was a rug in the kitchen that was very dirty and the bathmats were also in desperate need of a clean. Our bed linen was clean and smelled nice, however was bobbly and clearly well used - in need of a replacement. There was also dust on the top of the bed frame. The facilities weren’t great - the bathroom was a tiny room with a toilet and mini sink, you could barely move in there. There was a separate room with a shower that took up the whole room, very limited space to put a towel and clothes. The microwave was very dirty and smelled bad. Although we’re sure the host is lovely, we didn’t feel very welcomed as he didn’t speak to us or introduce himself, despite overhearing him having friendly conversations to other residents. Lastly, we only saw one cat the first day, and then didn’t see any again.
Decent location, comfy bed and clean bed linen, the one cat we saw was lovely, plenty of toiletries to use and decent kitchen facilities.

IrelandDisappointed. The house is very cold. There is heating, but the owner of the house did not turn it on at night. The outside temperature was below zero. The bathroom and toilet, narrow and open to the outside, are inside the kitchen. I've never seen this before. The poor cat was cold. regarding the mattress you can feel the springs stinging ,no lock on the antrance door 😶🌫️

IrelandThe amount of noise from 11pm onwards until 8am was insane. Loud bangs and conversations through the whole night, dishes being washed at all hours. We were in the top of a bunk bed on the ground floor and felt like we could hear everything through the whole house. The toilet was very small, and was not kept in a hygienic state. Another guest opened our door "accidentally" around 11:30pm.. and during the night I heard our door handle turn again as someone made their way through the corridor, but luckily we had the door locked this time. So we did not have a very safe feeling during our stay.
Host was sound. Bed linen was clean. Parking and location were handy. WiFi worked fine. It was a last minute booking for €40 so it suited our purpose fine.

United KingdomCabin bed in a tiny bedroom!! Too close to the ceiling for my husband to sleep in safely and no indication that you needed to be able to climb a ladder to get into bed. No other furniture in the room apart from fold-out chair underneath.
Convenient location close to city centre if you can walk.

United StatesThis is a long list: 1. My room was upstairs and there was no handrail, which was unsafe to say the least. 2. There was only a single “bathroom” in the lodge and it was located downstairs in the kitchen! This washroom (toilet and sink) was the size of an airplane lavatory (I’m not exaggerating!) with a sink barely large enough to wash my hands. This was extremely inconvenient for me because I was sick. 3. The shower was basically a closet adjacent to the lavatory with an inner shower door; there was barely space to remove my clothing, hang it, and keep it dry while I showered. 3. No dressing area, as both closets opened into the kitchen. 4. Importantly, both the lavatory and shower had windows, but they were locked each time I used these facilities so there was no way to air out the toilet after use, or to let out steam from the shower! Very unsanitary given that the kitchen was just outside the toilet, which was often smelly! 5. Kitchen refrigerator was packed with minimal space to store personal items. 6. Room: My key was a “skeleton key” that was tricky to use. I almost missed my appointment one morning because I was locked INside my room, trying to manipulate the key. 7. The room had no chair to sit on, and was too cold (the heater control was downstairs on a timer that couldn’t be changed). The electric blanket on the bed only worked for half of the bed. 8. This place was advertised as having a sitting area and a hot tub: the sitting area (literally the only place to sit other than one’s bed) was a sofa that doubled as the owner’s office space/work area, and the hot tub was just outside the front door and visible to all neighbors on either side and across the street (with absolutely no privacy during the day, or convenience of use at any time).
The best things about this lodge were the quiet and the owner’s 2 cats. The owner was good about keeping the kitchen sink area clean and was around enough to answer important questions.

ItalyFor 50 euros it would have been reasonable. "rough and ready" but acceptable. For 95 Euros it is massively overpriced. The toilet and the shower are a long way from the bedrooms and absolutely tiny. All sorts of details like clean windows and chipped paint all over the place were not taken care of. I would definitely not recommend it at this price.

CanadaA toilet so tiny I actually regretted not going in the plane. Unbelievable. And you step out from the minuscule shower right into the kitchen, mumbling apologies to anybody cooking. There are four rooms with guests, and all of them are forced to share the same microscopic execrable facilities. The support email is handled by different people providing conflicting information. Ran out of toilet paper one day. I was asked to replenish my own by one person, but the host quickly chimed in to say he would take care of it. One fine morning the shower mysteriously stopped midway, and I was left with soap in my eyes. Apparently, I had to go to the front of the house and fiddle with some fuse box to fix this. Which I learned after I had checked out. This is the worst place I've ever stayed in, and I grew up in a Third-World country. The neighborhood is sketchy and unclean. The house is noisy, and I could hear people talking loudly late into the night. It's a good 45-minute walk from the city center, which was fine by me, as I could use the steps. If only that helped me lose some weight to fit into that infernal toilet. I will be having nightmares of that sink and mat for weeks. Brr. All this happened due to my lack of thoroughness in vetting the listing. I was hoodwinked by glowing reviews (9.0 and 10 Exceptional rating), which, had I dug deeper, would have found were all provided by one Olena from Ukraine (possibly a plant). I'm pretty sure the host will delete this listing soon and put it up under a different name in the future. Booking.com should do something about this. I loved everything about Dublin, except for the stay. I can only wish now that I was more prudent in my choice. My advice: Stay far away. Go find a hostel instead. I bet it would have much nicer and spacious facilities, while being significantly cheaper. This one's a scam, pure and simple.
Bedroom had enough storage for one person, and just enough room to move around and/or bend over without knocking anything over or scraping elbows and knees. Cute cat.

PolandVery cool hosts, clean apartment. A bit tight but you can feel like at home. Perfect for 2 persons a bit tight for 3 but it’s fine and not expensive. Good localisation - 16 minutes to airport with a car, less than 30 minutes to city centre on foot We met a cute cat in the morning :)

United StatesA lot I didn’t like. It really isn’t what the property portrayed it as. I’m really not picky I’m a very well seasoned traveler and don’t expect much but the bedroom was super small and it wasn’t cleaned. The blanket and pillows look like they have been through so much. Like with the 90 euros I spent on my stay I’m pretty sure they could get a new bed cover and pillows. The pillows were so think from being used so much. The toilet and sink room is so tiny. I couldn’t even bend over to spit from brushing my teeth. The water cut off in the middle of the shower and since the house is with many people and the shower is literally in the kitchen where people are using it I was walking around the house in a towel trying to call the person to help me turn the water back on. The lady seemed a little annoyed everytime I tried getting her to help me. Idk I’m done writing this, it was a frustrating stay and I personally don’t think it should be on booking. It’s just a person trying to make money as much as possible and not caring about how clean or what the person who’s paying money to stay there to keep clean.
It was alright but not what the post expected it to be. What did I like? There’s nothing I liked tbh but I’ve been in worst places. I could have gotten a hostel I feel like
