If you like a wine or beer with your evening meal, you will have to have a designated driver or have a soft drink, no hardship in that. Really we didn't find anything to dislike.

Breakfast was very good and plenty of it. cooked to order and have just what you wanted. Beware of the Irish Soda Bread, it is addictive! The shower was great, once we had figured it out, not difficult. Mine Host could also advise of places to visit.

Great B&B in a in nice quiet location, close to all the main attractions of Cong and Mayo. The hosts were very helpful and knowledgeable about all the activities and attractions. I would highly recommend staying here if you would like to visit the May/Galway region.

A longer stay - didn’t want to leave this beautiful home and gorgeous views

Felt right at home with the kitchen and eat in area connected so we got to watch our breakfast being made. Geraldine and Micah work hard making breakfast personalized for all their guests!

Michael and Geraldine served us a feast breakfast with two choices of Irish and continental style. The rooms are very clean and the beds are quite comfortable. There is a lake nearby their house, around 10 minutes’ walk.

Everything about the stay was well above expectations, from the flexibility of arrival time, to the absolutely immaculate condition of the rooms, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whitethorne Lodge. The room size for a family was ideal & although we took 2 rooms, a family of four could easily fit in a single room. The staff were really kind & accommodating, providing us with a friendly welcome through to a very lovely breakfast that the kids & adults enjoyed.

Very welcoming and friendly, the room was clean. The breakfast was good, we got nice pieces of advice from the hosts who were very helpful. It is 5 minutes from Cong by car or 20 minutes by foot. It is very calm, we only heard sounds from the sheeps on the fields next to the house. A great stay !

Geraldine and Michael were wonderful hosts. A very warm welcome from Michael. Geraldine’s communication pre-arrival was extremely helpful. The whole property was immaculately clean. Breakfast was great and plentiful. In room T.V, WiFi, Tea and coffee and toiletries, were enjoyed. Great location just outside Cong village, near Ashford Castle and the stunning Connemara National Park. The property is a short walk down to the waters edge of Loch Corrib.

Nothing - we would not change a thing

We stayed for three nights in June 2024 going to a wedding in nearby Cong. Everything about our stay was excellent. The hosts, Mike and Geraldine, were so accommodating from the time we arrived and throughout, until we left. We had three nights in a larger room which was incredibly comfortable and clean, and the breakfasts were fantastic. Location of the B&B was slightly out of the way but this was a positive as the surrounding areas were very picturesque and added to our enjoyment.

Geraldine and Micheal were wonderful. They did everything to find solutions for us and they were very helpfull. We totally recommend them, they have a strong sens of hospitality. Rare are the hosts who would have done that much for us.

Such a perfect place ! We stayed for several nights and loved staying there. Ideally located if you want to visit and Connemara and Mayo. Beautiful house, impeccable cleanliness, spacious room, very comfortable beds, generous and good breakfast, quiet and peacefull place. Everything was perfect. Mickael and Geraldine take great care and are so nice ! Thank you for your kindness and the advices to visit the area.
