Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOh, where do I even start with this gem? Let me paint you a picture: a dirty and barricaded entrance that screams "welcome to your nightmare." But wait, it gets better! The rooms are so cozy that you can hear every little detail from the neighbouring rooms - who needs privacy anyway? And who needs proper walls when you can have a window to another room with no window in it? It's like a real-life game of "I spy" with your fellow guests. And don't even get me started on the toilet situation. The communal area is separated from the toilet with a basket-type net, so you can enjoy the sweet sounds of your fellow guests doing their business. Plus, they can hear you too - it's like a bonding experience! And when you try to escape this nightmare, the staff demands 100% payment at the premises, even though it clearly states only 50% should be paid on check-in (misscommunication via booking.com site). Oh, and let's not forget the hygiene situation. The bedding and towels have been used by dozens of guests before you, so you can snuggle up with their germs all night long. And who needs duvet covers, right? It's not like they're meant to be washed between guests or anything. Mixed feelings really......
Staff friendly and helpful. Liked the location and the staff at the checkpoint nearby.

It's location, I can give 100/10, as it's very close to masjid Aqsa may be max 200mtrs. We could go to all the 5 times namaaz with my father 85 yrs old Alhamdulillah. Please don't expect any Star facility.

United KingdomThe bed sheets and pillow cases were not changed between guests and we had to sleep directly with our skin under a blanket. No window to ventilate the room. The showers and toilets looked hardly cleaned with accumulated hair etc.
Great Location, breakfast good, and very atmospheric with its old stone walls right beside the wailing wall and sukhs

United KingdomStay was short on this occasion.
Great location right to the Chain Gate entrance to Al aqsa compound. Relaxed host and constant hustle and bustle outside the hostel. Everyone helpful. Booked single room with shared bathroom. Nice heating in the room. Can be tricky to find but if you ask anyone for the street name, you'll get there.

United KingdomBeing so close to the entrance of alaqsa compound & western wall, you will see the security guards outside.
I booked a bed in the dorm for my elderly dad to take a rest in between prayers at alaqsa, the location is the closest you will get to alaqsa & dome of the rock. The price is very very good for the facilities they offer, the staff are super friendly & informative. It's a family run hostel & exceptional price, the mom cleans up the rooms changes the sheets washes the towels, my dad enjoyed his stay during the days & at night we would take him to our other hotel just outside of the old town. Good WiFi,

United KingdomNot very clean. Beds are old and squeaking on every move. When I woke up somebody was sleeping on a mattress directly on the floor on the path to the toilet. I understand I booked a bed in room for 8 and that was a room for 5 but it doesn't mean that a room with capacity of 5 should be filled with more than 5 people. More blankets should be provided. Because it is on the wall bordering the Temple Mount, non-Muslims have some restrictions in the area and so google maps won't be extremely helpful but because there's people offering to help and police everywhere, at any hour of the night you will be able to ask for guidance in the neighbourhood.
The host is nice and helpful. It is conveniently placed in the old city centre. It feels safe with a lot of police everywhere. Lots of shops and very friendly people in the neighbourhood.

United KingdomIt’s very basic, a lot of people on here complain about that. if you don’t like basic hostels then this place isn’t for you.
The property was in the heart of the old city Jerusalem. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, met lots of people there. Not a party hostel, it’s for people who are genuinely interested in the rich cultural history of Jerusalem. Its basic with very simple amenities, but comfortable. A simple breakfast is provided and coffee is free all day if you want one.

United StatesThe hostel was filthy, especially the bathroom and beds. The kitchen too had unclean utensils piled up. It is also difficult to find for a newcomer as one has to go through a maze of dirty lanes in Old Jerusalem. The location is right next to the Western wall deep inside the old city which has narrow lanes. This means this is a place where taxis cannot reach and you will have to carry your luggage and walk a long way from either Damascus Gate or Jaffa Gate. This is true of the cleaner Jewish Quarter too. Also be prepared to face religious bigotry. The hostel is in the Muslim Quarter. Arrmed guards right next to the hostel entrance asked me if I was a Muslim and tried stopping me for not being a Muslim until I told them I stayed at the hostel. They also stop anyone from entering the Temple Mount complex from the entrance right next to the hostel if you are not a Muslim. However, they let me go to the hostel every time they stopped me and I told them I stayed there. Guess non-Muslims are unwelcome but that problem is solved with their $$$! If you ignore all the above, the only consolation is that all tourist spots in the old city are at a walking distance.

Ivory CoastPlace has no sign whatsoever that it is a hostel. The number 155 is not there and owner does not find it necessary to have it after having pointed it out. Did not have GPS so was sent 5 x th wrong way. Room very small with a broken bed. You are sleeping basically on a matress. AC is a joke but not as funny as the toilet. Where you sit is broken. When i wanted to use it everything was wet. You wonder why ? because the toilet is the shower at the same time !!! Internet only works if your phone accepts QR code as code. Manager not helpful at all. For breakfast i had an orange and a tea. Not allowed to get a second orange. Any place is better....
