Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Could have been cleaner floors and the toilet was a bit leaking....but this must have been an oversight. Overall the room was comfortable, good size and the view was fantastic from the balcony! Highly recommended place to stay for people on a budget.
The people at the hostel are amazing and interesting! Location is prime, right in Zion square. I really enjoyed my stay! Will continue coming there or wherever the place is located.

They definitely need to renovate. Very disappointed. The bathroom had a bad smell. The upholstery of the chair was very dirty. The headrest was very dirty. The air conditioning was not working. The room was hot. The bathroom door did not have a knob. The balcony door was closed with a latch that was very flimsy. We felt very unsafe sleeping in this room. Also very noisy due to which we could not sleep.

Very old building, it really needs some renovations.
You can say it's fairly priced for what you get. The location is very central. I found it too noisy and busy.

Amazing location, great price and wonderful staff! I've stayed here many times and I love it! - particularly the rooftop space, with a view of the Old City of Jerusalem.

Noise from outside well past midnight, cats on terrace where breakfast is served, same breakfast, very old building and everything very badly needs upgrading. No elevators. Have to climb stairs to walk and take your luggage. Rooms very small. Old cots and beds. No TV or phones.

Nothing. I actually thought we would only sleep here and that's all, but it turned out that here it is much better than I expected.
It was really awesome to stay here. I was here together with parents for 3 nights. The staff, Muhammad (I hope I wrote his name correctly) gave me information how to get to Tel Aviv without using taxi and where to take very in detail during jewish new year's period. Some people mentioned the facility is a bit old , but our room was perfect. I like the mattress, it was cozy and bed sheets were clean. And breakfast was another plus. We could drink capsule coffee! Kitchen was nice. I made simple sandwiches before our trip in the kitchen and there were 3 dinner tables. People cooked and ate there. You can get hot and cold water here. Terrace was nice 👍 Very near to the tram stop. Also reception worked till late so we managed to check in around 11 30 pm. Normally I don't leave reviews but I would like to, since now I'm on the shared taxi to go to Tel aviv I wish your business goes well and if I have any chance to visit Jerusalem I will definitely book here again Thank you 🙏

Far too noisy. There is no sound isolation, so if your room is in the street side impossible to rest.

The very small bathroom and the smell from the toilet, but it was okay and doable.
Lovely boutique hotel/ hostel. We had our private room with balcony at the street side. So we could sit in the sun and have our view on the square. Good breakfast, lovely staff (gave us good advice).

1. Breakfast was too late. 8:30apm. It should be 6 or 7am since the tour started early. 2. There are bug in the mattress or bed making my leg red dot

I came to Jerusalem to meet my family and friends during Biblical holidays. After The holidays ended we've seen a big homosexual flag on the rooftop of the hostel. Great disappointment for people who came to Israel to worship the living God.
