Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomHeating didn't work and the same maintenance clown responsible for that blocked the entire car park. Reception often unattended which could cause problems of access.
Only a few minutes from Damascus gate, charming manageress, nice breakfast. Cheap by Jerusalem standards. Sells beers and wine

ItalyThey should have cleaned my room a bit more often
It's a great, warm place right in front of Damascus gate. I enjoyed the warmth of the staff that help me feel like home.

CanadaI took tea for breakfast instead of instant coffee. I don’t drink instant. The elevator is tiny- enough for me and my small case. Many hotels in Jerusalem don’t have elevators- so this was a bonus.
The location was perfect- 5 minute walk to Damascus Gate. The hotel has a very home like feel from caring staff to Fatima at the breakfast room. A chapel is on site. I had a shower late at night and also early morning- plenty of hot water.

IsraelIt's a piligrims guesthouse and bishop's residence at the same time, and a functioning Catholic Cathedral. It's not and can't be a religion agnostic place (may be an issue for some guests). Rooms are lacking modern facilities like a computer table. I assume there are only single beds in the rooms by intent, it's not a luxury resort for a family vacation. Anyway, great experience for a solo traveller, city center location, super value and (let me stress it again) exceptional family-like guest care!
A great value place in pedestrian proximity to the Old City and all the main attractions. VERY friendly staff. Full impression of staying in a family. Great breakfast included in the price and coffee.

ItalyThere was no noise from a big machine in the space between the building next door but it stopped before the evening so all good.
Great value for money. Close to the old town. Decent breakfast. Big surprise. Was too lazy to travel back to Tel Aviv so stayed in Jerusalem.

New ZealandAt some stage when tourism etc picks up a little, it us probably due for some remodeling/updating.
Lovely place, excellent location, fantastic staff. The place is perhaps a little tired - tourism has been devastated in Israel so there's not so much money available for remodeling - but it is clean, tidy and very comfortable. The staff go the extra mile and then some. Breakfast is great, and having a secure place to park a rental car is wonderful.

United StatesWhile not unusual in Israel, some of the staff weren't exactly friendly. Not rude either, just not very welcoming. Some were very helpful and kind.
The complimentary, Mediterranean-style breakfast was GREAT. A lot of variety and healthy options, like hummus, pickled veggies, wheat rolls, eggs, olives, salsa, potatoes, coffee, milk, and cereal. It definitely helped to start us off on a positive note each day. The views from our room to the Old City of Jerusalem were stellar. The Jerusalem lightrail train passes nearby, and there is a prominent stop within relatively easy walking distance. Also, a number of buses pass by on a main thoroughfare. (We were told this main street used to be the partition line between East and West Jerusalem. The hotel is on the east side in a mixed Christian and Muslim neighborhood. The opposite side of the street is mostly Jewish neighborhoods.) The room was plain, but clean and met our requirements for having a decent-enough place to stay during our week-long trip. An interesting fact about the property is that it hosts a beautiful chapel. It's super-close to the Garden Tomb site, and it's about a 5-10 minute walk, depending on how fast you're going, to reach the Damascus Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem. As a side note, a rocket attack from Gaza started during our stay. Rocket alarms sounded in our neighborhood. The stairwell of the hotel offered a solid place to shelter, but there isn't a dedicated bomb shelter.

United StatesI booked last minute so maybe my room was facing the street. It was a little noisy with horns. But it did not impact my sleep. Was just something I noticed. I would stay here again.
I liked the location, right by the garden tomb and near the Damascus gate. The breakfast was really amazing and the people working there were very kind. The room was very clean.
