The location is not directly in the city center, but in Anna Nagar which means you have to deal with rickshaw drivers. Staff will assist you. I walked up and down to town and the bus stations. Arappalayam bus stand (Munnar, Coimbatore destinations) is 6 km away. Mattuthavani bus station (Chennai destination) is at a distance of 3 km. Keep in mind Madurai city center is very congested (narrow streets with a lot of noise and exhaust fumes). Anna Nagar is where the city middle class lives. It is more quiet and restaurants are of better standards.

Avea is a modern style guesthouse. All facilities such as a hot shower, AC and WiFi worked well. The bed was comfortable. Towel and soap, toiletpaper all routinely provided. The accommodation is kept very clean. Drinking water and boiling water to make your own coffee or tea is included. Staff want to give good service to the guest. It is not a place where you just get a room for a certain time and that is it. Stayed four days.

I have travelled for the Medical treatment purpose, this place looks ideal for solo traveler and family stay. Staffs are very flexible on the check in and check-out timings, as they have assisted us on late check-out request happily. Recommend this place if you are travelling to visit Aravind eye hospital or Vasan eye care hospital. Thank you whole team for making the stay pleasantly.

Nighttime staff was not very helpful (didn’t explain how ac worked, didn’t show us where the blankets and towels are and didn’t give us the wifi password). So the first night was not so nice, but as soon as daytime staff helped all was perfect!

No breakfast. But they have a vender for quick snacks and cold drinks.

Very clean and neat. Staff very kind, flexible, and polite. The recepcionist Meena was very flexible with our check out. The night recepcionist and Meena (the day) did all they could to make our stay comfortable. But remember, this is an economy hotel. Do not expect the same you would get in expensive hotels. I recommend the stay in the hotel.

The staff was very polite and they did let us check in early on request. The rooms were clean and the location is good, there is a nice south Indian restaurant 3 mins walking distance to the hotel where the food was delicious.

Check in was late as they did not prepare the room on time. Cleaning was done in haste and I wonder if they really did change the bedsheet. Bedsheets are dirty, we didn’t bother to request to change as we were so tired that night and it was just for one night stay. A little noisy, can hear people talking despite closing the door.

One of the ladies moved me to a quiet room after being on a floor with a noisy Indian family. A very professional staff. It was a good stay.

It was a bit loud in the room during the day and evening as I was on the ground floor and the street is rather busy. I slept with earplugs and that worked perfectly. I don’t advise opening the window due to mosquitos (there was a screen but some still came in) so it wasn’t easy to get fresh air. The AC and fan helped with that. The rooms and furniture seemed rather old and a bit dusty but that’s fine for this price.

Simple and comfortable hotel with extremely kind staff and very comfortable beds! I returned a second time because I felt so at ease here. My room was relatively small but more than enough if you’re spending most of the time outside. The wifi was also very good and I was able to take meetings from the desk in my room. The location was quite good. Not immediately in the center but still plenty of shops and restaurants around and easy to get a taxi anywhere outside the door. The staff Mina and Ram are incredibly kind and attentive. Thank you so much!
