IndiaThe Hotel is in the middle of forest and little far from the market and crowd. It's really a nice place if you want to separate yourself from the crowd. Rooms are old fashioned but It's kind of cool.

IndiaThe property is slightly far from the main market, nevertheless the property location does justice with lush green surroundings. The rooms could be maintained better, the towels initially provided were dirty, there were monkeys playing in the swimming pool making it not suitable for guests for usage.
The food is very good and tasty. Breakfast, lunch, dinner everything was good with variety of options. The property is very nice with large space to walk and roam around, do photo shoots. Hotel had arranged fun activity during the stay which enhanced our overall experience.

IndiaAll of us could have been accommodated in a single executive room, this was informed to us by Byke reception staff ie after we reached there. We paid extra for one room which was by default included in the package by Booking.com. We paid extra for the room, which could have been avoided. More so one room had breakfast option other didn't. But while booking we did select the breakfast inclusion for both the rooms. Also, Byke told us that all the rooms has in built breakfast option which we were deprived of because there was a technical error made by Booking.com. So we paid for our breakfast (1 room, 2 pax). The unnecessary expense of room and breakfast was where we feel cheated and would think again if we would like to book with booking.com next time.

IndiaBut as of now NOV 2022 we faced few issues we could not ignore: 1. Breakfast was not upto the mark, we have had better. Who gives jalegbi fafda for breakfast over cornflakes and milk and juices? If they are aiming to cater to only Gujarati and Marwadi crowds they should advertise accordingly. Even our paid lunch was very sad, and cheap, but rather I would pay for à la carte. BDW there is no à la carte system, and an upgrade of breakfast or lunch or dinner is NOT possible. Its best to go out and eat rather. It feels like they want to cater to the senior crowd who are adamant on eating an extremely Indianised version only. 2. The washroom was so tiny, compared to the room which was so spacious. Plus no hot water, had to waste 3 buckets of water for a slight luck warm water which came only for 5 mins. When we asked they did not even care to bother offering a hot bucket of water. No exhaust fan in the bathroom, no window either. So no ventilation which means all the moisture and smell enter the room. The fittings though were branded, the shower did not work efficiently. 3. I had friends staying n other hotels, who paid half the price and got similar facilities. Not worth it. 4. Hotel voucher says checkout is 11Am. The hotel had a sign of checkout to be at 9 AM. 5. Even when the hotel had barely any checkin the next day they did not allow or a late checkout. 6. Hospitality isnt the best in Matheran overall, everyone - shopkeepers, Restaurants, hotels, etc - all are rude or blunt. They have a take-it-or-leave-it attitude which is off-putting, which even unfortunately Brightland had.
Brightland is beautifully built and has huge premises, decent rooms, beautiful gardens, and swings all around. The swimming pool looked clean, location is decent too. I understand that after 2 years of lockdown they are trying their best to recover and renovate.

IndiaThe hotel rooms were given to us in a corner of the property, one of the rooms was very dirty and oddly designed. Very inconvenient. The food was always served cold and wasn't even tasty. The rooms lacked basic amenities like hot water kettle, tea n coffee packets, hot water in the shower, etc. I mean, in monsoon season, these are basics. You don't deserve my money if you can't even do this. Worst part was, the staff is clueless about how to solve basic problems and not ready to take any responsibility at all. Pathetic. Shameful.
