There were some frustrating aspects: Kayak Trip Organization: I initially requested a full-day kayak rental, but was told I could only have it for three hours at either 6:00 AM or 3:00 PM. Even then, there were delays, and I ended up with a companion I hadn’t requested. While the guide was friendly and doing his job, I had wanted a private kayaking experience, which wasn’t honored. Billing Issues & Tipping Pressure: At checkout, the receptionist tried to overcharge me for the kayak. The agreed price was 1,100 rupees, but suddenly they asked for 1,500. I paid without argument, as I considered that my tip, but then they still had the audacity to ask for more. This left a sour taste at the end of my stay. False Payment Options: They advertise credit card payments, but when I tried to pay that way, I was told it wasn’t working. A major inconvenience for anyone expecting to use a card instead of cash.

My stay at Chilanka Lake View Resort in Alleppey was generally enjoyable. The room and bathroom were clean, the sheets were fine, and everything functioned as expected. One of the highlights was their treehouse-style viewpoint, which offered a beautiful spot to watch houseboats pass by—a great touch for those who enjoy scenic views. The breakfast was tasty as well, adding to the overall pleasant experience.

One of the best stays I have experienced in Kerala. The location of the property was extremely nice. It was just beside the lake hence the name is the perfect Chilanka Lake view resort. The rooms were decent but kul have been more lavish. It is getting renovated hence that problem will also be solved. The caretaker Ajay was a very friendly and very helpful person. He was an all rounder at the property doing all the stuff very politely and with full of humility. The only problem I faced was of Wi-Fi which I hope will be solved soon. The category was really really very good and was very humble and was very active helping us in solving minut problem as well. A perfect staycation near boat house or Lake view at Alappuzha

The hotel is a 30-40 minute walk from the nearest restaurant, boat jetty etc, although rickshaws are available at the main road. Breakfast provided but no other food. The place is approximately 400 metres from the main road with no rickshaw access, along a convoluted path, part of which is just rocks and stones, which would make it difficult for those with heavy luggage.

The room was excellent. Spacious & very clean. Airconditioning and a rotating wall fan. Many electric sockets for recharging phone & accessories. Even some international sockets. The Indian gentleman in charg was helpful.

Long bumpy footpath to reach property from road. My husband cannot walk distances and found it difficult . Fine if you have moped or are fit and young!

Great location, boats passing by, pretty garden, lovely to sit on balcony and watch life on the lake. Guesthouse organised a boat trip too. Three hours and 3000rupees (£30) for three of us. Was nice.

Yes, Location is by the lake but the catch is that it is not accessible by car. Not to worry, the people of the resort will guide you and pick your luggages to the resort. Food is not available at the resort, you can order it via zomato or directly from restaurants - which deliver to the resort

Path to reach hotel was not good, we need to walk for 450 mts . path is so narrow only bike can go.

If you choose to be here, the center and the beach are obviously a little further, but also other amenities are a bit far. You can’t simply walk out here at night and get a dinner (not as a woman alone at least), which I found a bit of a pity. You will always need a Tuktuk or motorbike to go somewhere.

Great stay directly at the water so if you’re lucky you have a view over the water from your doorstep. The hotel manager is super friendly and helping you to arrange everything.

While the bathroom had hot water, the shower did not work with the hot water, but the "cold" water was not cold anyways.

It's little inside from the main road, you need to walk 10 mts from the main road. Car, auto or any vehicle doesn't go inside After sunset it's difficult to walk due to limited street lights

Awesome view from the room. You can see the backwater and the housing boat movement from your rooms. Staff was very customer friendly and they treat you like their family. We reached early but still they managed to let us refresh in a different room and start our boating

They arrange parking outside because cars cannot go there and 5 mins walk to the resort.

One side of the resort has a nice view. Other rooms also have views but not very nice. Good rooms and very clean. The manager was friendly. Rooms and beds are comfortable and all rooms have a balcony.They have complimentary breakfast at 8:30 AM.
