The path down to the homestay was not great and dark at night, would not recommend for a solo traveller. The host, although very nice, did not have much English and it was a bit difficult to communicate. The rooms also could have been cleaner and there was a slight smell to them

The view from the homestay over the backwaters was amazing. Our host organised a 3 hour shikara ride for us for sunrise and picked us up from the homestay which was very handy. For what we paid, it was excellent.

It’s a walk to get there (rickshaws can’t get there) so if you carry a lot of luggage it’s a bit difficult to arrive and depart (we experienced).

Loved the place… really out of the way, quiet and great atmosphere. They have boats, so you don’t need to worry about all that. Owner is very friendly and helpful.

Manager was helpful but too much talkative, does hard sell of massage, boating etc. breakfast was average (Idli, sambhar and chutney only). approach road is not great, though staff helped in picking the luggage.

Wifi connection didn’t work very well inside the rooms, but worked very well outside on our balconies.

Four of us stayed here, in two separate rooms for five days and we were all very happy. 

Due to airport delays we arrived very late at night and the caretaker Ajay helped to make that as smooth as possible which was a big relief. Due to the great location of the property right on the edge of the backwaters of Punnamada Lake, it’s either a five minute walk from the main road, or a scooter can be ridden all the way down and parked inside if weather allows as the path can get quite wet. Ajay helped us ferry our heavy bags from the main road using his scooter which was very helpful.

Both our rooms were clean, spacious and had all the facilities we needed, although the showers were cold but not a problem and quite nice actually after a hot day.

Ajay and the two ladies who were cooking breakfast and cleaning rooms were fantastic and we can’t praise them enough. We had breakfast each day, which they helped to make vegan for us and it was all authentic and very tasty. Tea and coffee can be asked for at any point during the day. As the property is located in a quiet neighbourhood, the best option for lunch or dinner is to use the Zomato app which we found great and Ajay can help if needed. If you want to eat out, there’s always at least one tuktuk waiting at the main road to take you the short distance into Alappuzha town for around 100-150 rupees. The manager Tijo was very friendly, and along with Ajay helped us to organise a sunrise boat trip using their own, very nice boat, and some kayaking trips for sunset which is a definite must-do. Two young brothers guided us and took us for a chai-stop and then to a point to watch sunset and they’ll answer any questions you have and make it a fun trip. If you’re lucky you’ll get to watch the snake-boat teams practicing too.

The only negative is the car parking is 100 mts far from the property. Rather than the stay was excellent. They have their own boat for short and long ride in the backwaters with reasonable price.

The only water to reach there is by walk. The traveller or car can only go upto a certain point beyond that you have to walk 300 mtrs

The place is located at backwaters. It's a beautiful property and they have a beautiful boat as well. The manager and maintenance bhaiya are both very good.
