The kindness of the owner and workers, the amazing location, great food and rooftop, cozy room ! They also organize an incredible safari desert for one night which suits perfectly to our expectation. We also ask for cooking class, but there were none in the city. So the owner with his wife, figure to teach us by themselves hom to cook in the true indian way. What an amazing family trip thanks to them

Not appropriate for travellers with significant mobility issues - lots of steep steps and tight places.

Large room in the exterior of wall of the fort with a terrific view from the rooftop terrace and dining area. Very helpful Owner. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an authentic experience of Jaiselmer.

We have no complaints. Can't wait to stay here again during off season.

Excellent hotel. We (2ppl) stayed there for 3 nights in a small room with shared bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. We loved the rooftop view and the Rajasthan food such as gutta kadi and pakora kadi. The staff was very warm, welcoming and informative. Value for money and everything to see was in walking distance.

Staying inside the fort is really cool, the rooftop is incredible, and the staff so nice and helpful. I loved my room, with a nice window, emand the common area was really good too. No trouble with hot shower - just wait 3min ;) And it was really clean!

The shower was cold and weak but then again this is a fort that suffers from subsidence so I shouldn't complain!

The view in this place is stunning and worth it for here alone. Staying in the fort itself is such an amazing experience, you can't go to Jaisalmer and not do it! The room was decent with a nice large bed and the staff friendly. The taxi from the station was a massive help because there's no way we could have found it in the dark otherwise!

Shared bathroom could have been kept cleaner. I believe there were also some guests/outsiders who used the bathroom without locking the door. The fan in our room also didn't work at first but the staff arranged a standing fan as an alternative. But only outlet in the room made it difficult to have the fan going while also charging phone/camera.

Incredible stay. Located right insight the fort. Great rooftop views of the city and fort, and good restaurant food. The room was beautiful and comfortable. Staff are wonderful – Lucky answered all our questions and helped us arrange a desert safari. Then the staff throughout the desert trip (our driver, our camel guide, our cooks, etc). were also incredibly kind and hospitable. Highly recommend the open sky overnight desert trip. The hospitality at the hotel and in the desert far exceeded expectations.

Really excellent place to stay. Ajit, the owner, is a genuinely lovely guy who goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. He met us personally at the station to sort out a lift up (it would be hard to find on your own - especially at night) and was helpful throughout our stay, making suggestions but without any pressure at all. The room I stayed in had a stunning view of the fort at night, a comfy bed and two lovely window nooks with cushions to sit in during the day. The bathroom plumbing isn't awesome, but I was also very conscious of water use and it's impact on the fort. Having an Indian shower with the bucket is far more effective than a stand up shower and uses less water. The restaurant upstairs was excellent - we ate two breakfasts and two dinners there it was so good. The view from the roof is spectacular. Hours slip by as there is just so much to see. I really recommend a stay here - easily the best homestay we stayed at on our trip.

The plumbing for the sinks in the on suite bathrooms could be better but this won’t spoil your trip.

Ajit Polji, the owner of Hotel Desert really went over and beyond to make sure my stay was superb. After a 12 hour train journey from Jaipur, without even asking, I was unexpectedly met at the train station which was at life saver because my train pulled into Jaisalmer at 23:15. The hotel is located in a quiet part of the fort which may have difficult to find in the dark and tuk, tuk drivers would struggle so do let the hotel know when and how you are arriving so they can pick you up. The room was lovely and big with a large bed, en-suite, beautiful decor and two lovely windows with great views of the fort walls. Breakfast was great on the rooftop cafe above the hotel. The menu is quite extensive for India. Both mornings I had baked beans on toast which I loved. I’m vegan and my body was really craving protein in the morning. They also made a lovely fresh veggie salad (an unusual request but they gladly accommodated). Ajit also organised my overnight trip to the desert for a very reasonable price. Don’t hesitate to book yours. I had a magically time. Ajit also helped me arrange my bus ticket to Bikaner and kindly help me to the fort entrance with my luggage and negotiated the price with a tuk, tuk driver.

Very well situated Lovely view from roof top WiFi good Very good camel safari experience and we could shower upon return before taking bus. Hot water! We arrived late and the host still accepted us with no hassle at all. He booked our bus ticket which saved us money from buying online. The chef was absent for family reasons but breakfast options were still good Not going to complain because this place was good value for money

Fantastic hotel in a beautiful fort 😍 Everything was great. Clean and comfortable accommodation for a very affordable price. They can organise everything that a tourist may need: camel safaris, money exchange, transport, etc. There is a lovely cafe on the gorgeous rooftop. The area is very safe and it is in a perfect location. What makes it really special are the owners. Such a lovely people! They made me feel like at home. And they are super helpful. I highly recommend this place.

Great place to stay jaisalmer. Hotel desert.i love roof top and beautiful garden.the view from my room was amazing.foid great Ajit the host made my camel safari trip was one of my best time spent in desert .we sleep under the shooting star .it was great experience.just go for it best of luck .
