The location, ambience, facilities, food, everything about this property was above my expectation. Also the rate was worth for the private pool. Everything was clean and neat. The manager was really keen in assisting and guiding. The sea shore was just behind the property which was adds to the experiance.

The hotel's location in the tranquil little village of Katoor was perfect. The beachfront access (perfect sunsets almost every evening!), gorgeous, well-maintained gardens, the pool, the common areas and the room were all outstanding. Max and the team were very attentive, from organising taxis to and from the airport, bikes to explore the surrounding countryside, tuk tuks to Marari beach for dinners out, a taxi to explore Fort Kochi, and a slow-boat tour of the backwaters. Those four hours floating on the backwaters were a holiday highlight for us, beautiful scenery, friendly locals, and absolute, blissful relaxation! The food service crew were great, breakfast was always a feast of flavours, as were the delightful dinners of freshly-caught fish!

Everything from pre arrival to post checkout!! Max' attention to detail is second to none!. Made sure our driver had full location details The whole is a haven with immaculate gardens. The cleanest pool i have ever seen. Here if it's supposed to be white then it's white..linen towels curtains voiles immaculate. The cottages are beautifully designed and equipped in luxurious bedding furniture etc. Food was amazing, cooked to perfection as per special order as I am allergic to fish. Same was articulate and Professional and so flexible with menus etc. We enjoyed all our meals. A few yards from a beautiful quiet clean Kattoor beach and ocean. I spent many hours enjoying the peace and solitude. The whole team @Ether were very friendly and professional we were pampered and made to feel very special. The canoe trip was perfectly planned and our guides were lovely personable and very knowledgeable. Would recommend a canoe rather than houseboat or Shikara to really get into the small narrow canals. We had a wonderful stay at Ether…the pool was amazing and so warm. Sunsets were spectacular. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal on two nights and it was delicious and very reasonable. Max the host was very accommodating and helpful and even let us check in early.

Unfortunately, because of erosion it is not possible to walk for any distance along the shoreline as artificial defences had to be installed. However, you can walk a few hundred meters north or south of the property and the beach opens up. It is only possible to swim in the morning - the sea is less rough in Marari proper - Ether Marari Beachfront is in Katoor rather than Marari. Also the beach is not very clean with plastic and other rubbish lying around and washed up.

The accommodation is set in a beautifully maintained garden and is superbly well managed by Maxon. A good size pool which is large enough to exercise in and cool off in during the heat of the day. Maxon is very well connected and arranged an excellent backwaters tour for us. Nothing was too much trouble for him!

What an incredible stay. Not only is the property itself absolutely stunning, but Max and his team were there for anything and everything we needed. Fantastic staff and a truly memorable few nights. I would recommend eating there as much as you can - the food was great for every meal. Thanks again to Maxon and the team for making it such a brilliant time.

We loved staying at Ether. The property is beautiful, quiet and extremely well located, right on the beachfront. The garden is amazing: it is very green., with different varieties of plants and flowers and a large fish pond. The cottages are lovely and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking the garden in the evening. It is so nice and refreshing to sit in a garden right by the sea. The bedroom with the plunge pool benefits from a direct view on the sea. From the terrasse you can watch the sun go down into the sea, a wonderful experience. We loved the swimming pool in the garden. We recommended the property to other travellers we met on our trip.

Having to leave!

What a beautiful place this is! We booked the suite with a private pool and sea view, what a room! Spotless, great air con, amazing sea view right onto the beach! very comfortable bed, great private jacuzzi pool. On arrival we were greeted with a lovely smile from the owner who very kindly offered us lunch and a refreshing drink. A lovely platter of fruit was presented to us and a tour of the grounds. The pool is very clean and a great size with sun-loungers and a parasol. All staff were friendly ☺️ Having the benefit of walking straight out of our room onto what seems like a private beach to watch the dolphins who appear from time to time was bliss. Breakfast was delicious too with great choices. The area is quiet but you can get a tuk tuk to restaurants or other places . Overall an amazing place to stay, we were even allowed to check out late, sad we couldn’t stay longer. Highly recommend!

The only thing that I disliked was that my stay was too short.

The location couldn't have been better! The gardens were so well tended and so very beautiful and led to a gate leading directly to the perfect sandy beach overlooking the Indian Ocean. The room itself was meticulously clean with relatively modern decor. It was spacious with a balcony overlooking the garden. The AC was effective. The staff, including the owners, were very welcoming and helpful throughout the stay. A delicious breakfast was served in the dining room with great courtesy. I will return!

It was perfect. I have nothing to complain.

It was exactly what I was looking for. A happy place to relax and unwind at the beach. From the first moment it took my breath away, I felt as I was in Greece. Super white beach, blue ocean and more than friendly hosts (Max, Soni and Anish) and incredible food. Impressed by the service and effort the made to fulfil every wish. I will for sure revisit and stay longer. My new happy place ♥️

Great place to stay if you want to go to relax and for some peace and quite. It's still close to marari beach if you want a change of scenarie Beach is very nice and facilities are excellent. The food is absolutly amazing best restaurant around so definitly suggests getting lunch and or dinner there. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We spend an amazing 4 days there.

The property is located bang on the beach, as close as it can get, with a beautiful view of the beach !! We loved the place, the rooms, the food and the hospitality !! Everything was just perfect...Anisha and Sony are amazing hosts and just felt like a family with their warmth and went that extra mile to take care of the guests. Anisha and Soni were amazing host. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The property is right at the beach, perfect for relaxing stay. The food was the best we had in Kerela. Staff were excellent. Rooms were comfortable.

For longer stays your own transport would be useful to get out and about although the hosts can recommend a good driver service.

This was an unexpected experience. The hosts were super friendly and entertaining. There is still some construction work underway but our corner of the plot was well maintained. We had a really cute chalet with balcony close to a nice pool area. Home cooked food with preferences well catered for. Would certainly return if we visit Kerala again. Expect to be treated like family!
