Location, professional & friendly staff, large rooms, excellent breakfast, first-class restaurant on rooftop, and coffee, cake and snacks on endless supply. What’s not to like? Also a special mention to the staff who helped us when our flight out was cancelled at late notice. They provided us with a number of options, then were able to get us on an overnight bus back to Jaipur to get our next flight. Even supplied us with sandwiches and snacks for the trip then escorted us to the bus. First-rate service because in there words, we were ‘family’.

This is the only place you should stay in Jaisalmer. Period. The End. Manoj and his guys are the best, their skill and hospitality are unmatched. The food is freaking great, they can do pizza that’s better than 95% of what I get in the states. Think about that, some dudes in the desert of India flat out school a place know for pizza. That just par for the course at 1st Gate. You are taken care of like you’re family. They handled any request we had, as I heard several times “Anything is Possible”. Nailed it every time. And the location? Just book your stay and don’t look back, this is exactly the place you want to be to experience how amazing Jaisalmer is. Oh, and wait until you meet Simba, Manoj’s dog. He’s chillest, gives zero F’s and is like the mayor of Jaisalmer. Did I say just stay here when you come to Jaisalmer?

It's a cozy pretty place, warm & beautiful interiors. We had a comfortable stay. The staff were attentive and helpful. Food tasted great. Rooms were clean and Bathrooms were well ventilated. The rooftop restaurant provides nice views of the fort. They went out of their way to make sure we were ok, even packed for us takeaway snacks for the road. The human factor experience was on point so kudos to the owner and the running team. Located right at the footsteps of the jaisalmer fort. The surrounding area is a bit messy but you can't blame the property for it. Thank you 1st gate team.

This place is just amazing. The decore is very stylish, the rooms big and very comfortable. The staff at the hotel is super helpful and very sweet! Food and breakfast were super good, and the location is perfect for visiting Jaisalmer fort. Highly recommended!

During my travels through India, I stumbled upon a hidden gem that I can confidently say offers some of the finest hospitality I've ever encountered. The staff at this enchanting place went above and beyond, from ensuring our room was stocked with our favorite treats (candy and chocolate) which we were able to put in a special request for prior to check in, to thoughtfully packing us snacks for our city adventures. When we found ourselves in need of an emergency prescription, they graciously fetched it for us from the local pharmacy. A true testament to their hospitality! The property itself is centrally located directly across the street from the Jaisalmer Fort and has a fantastic restaurant on the premise that serves delicious local fare as well as some classic Italian dishes, including perfectly cooked pizzas in the only wood-fire stove in Jaisalmer. While we were staying here they also upgraded the gym to include some brand new equipment in addition to the good selection of free weights that they already had. Leaving the property to go anywhere other than some sightseeing was the hardest part of the stay because they had everything we needed on location. I would happily come back just to stay here and experience the first class service.

There is nothing to complain about.

After our travel though the north of India 1st Gate felt like home away from home. It was sooooo relaxing and the staff was always taking care of everything but was not over attentive as you have it so often in Indian hotels. Simply speaking: they just know how to make you comfortable - even when you travel with a teenager who attracts attention. Thanks 🙏🏻 to all of the people working there and their faboulos hotel dog Simba. It’s so comfortable that You can almost forget to visit the golden city of jaisalmer when you stay there.

Everything ,the staff was incredibly friendly, warm and hospitable. Incredible view of the fort from the rooftop restaurant, serving exquisite and authentic Italian food especially the Penne Norma . Beautiful design, rooms, and atmosphere . Owner explained explained that he wanted to create a peaceful and comfortable environment from hectic India travel . I could go on and on, but basically a 10 from start to finish. Well done.

Overall experience was great.View from the restaurant is beautiful,food is tasty, rooms are clean and hospitability from the staff is wonderful.More importantly hotel owner Mr. Manoj is extremely cooperative and nice person, I faced some issue with the hot water supply so, Mr. Manoj gave us complimentary dinner.

We liked everything

Great location, with an amazing view of the fort. Hospitable hotel staff. Great breakfast with local delicacies. Nice decor and a comfortable bed. My wife got sick on the day we arrived from Jaipur. One of the staff members was so helpful. He arranged for the transport and accompanied us to the nearest hospital, and she got a very fast treatment. They also provided us with a guide to visit the fort and the old city.

absolutely fantastic place to stay in Jaisalmer. great spot for visiting the city, Fort, Havelis and Lake in walking distance. Many nice details that you explore during the stay in and outside the lovely rooms, extremely polite and supportive team from the hotel manager to the cleaning team. one of the best views from the rooftop where you can enjoy tea, coffee, dinner or just relax. Additionally we need to highlight the food, either traditionally Indian or perfect Italian style. (the chefs were trained for months by an Italian chef to provide authentic Italian cuisine) and it was worth it! if you have any requirement, every person you are talking to will do anything possible to make it work. Nothing to dislike.

The room was amazing. Great service of the staff. One of us was feeling very bad on the day we were supposed to leave and not only they provided late check-in for free, but they also gave us a guestroom for her to rest. It's really a great hotel, at European standards. Exceptional services include: sauna, hydromassage pool, Italian restaurant with exceptional food in the splendid rooftop, organised desert trip with private driver, position very closed by Jaisalmer's Fort entrance.

Nothing as such to crib about. They don't do room service for dinner (tea, etc. is served at the room, but other meals are at the restaurant) but they made an exception for my child who was running fever during the trip, so I appreciated that bit. Other than that could be bit costly, but I guess for the time we visited (end Dec) and considering the overall value I think it is worth it.

The location was excellent. Right next to the fort within walking distance. The place has a very nice vibe, clean and spacious rooms with all modern facilities and supplies, common pool, sit outs and the roof top restaurant has great views. The room itself is quite cosy with a nicely done up window sitout in typical Jaislamer style, super soft mattresses, heater and a WiFi enabled TV so u can binge on OTT if u are staying in. The staff is very courteous, will go out of their way to make u feel at home. Special call out to Manoj for this, took care of our every need and made the stay really special

One of the best hotels I have stayed in during a 3 month trip in India. Extremely impressed - hotel staff should be very proud!

Absolutely first class customer service. Made to feel completely at home - the staff could not be more helpful. Lots of nice thoughtful touches Very spacious room - would be considered a suite in other hotels. Very good food in the restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. Very generous portions! Complimentary snacks such as homemade cake and drinks available during the day.
