Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Very good room, with wonderful view of the harbour through two large windows. Rooftop restaurant (with beer), where breakfast was served. Helpful staff. Fine location just up from Gateway and Taj Hotel.

Germanythe level of cleaning was lower than less expensive places I've stayed in mumbai. there were stains on the furniture, hair in the bed and pillow, and some of the towels were clearly stained too.
the porters were very kind and explained everything to us thoroughly. the location is fantastic, since you are very close to the gateway of india. this is pretty much the only plus.

United KingdomThe bathroom was unclean. The bathroom towels were unclean. The owner doesn't seem interested in maintenance of the rooms and in particular cleanliness. When it opened the property was very well maintained. That is no longer the case.
The staff are nice.

NetherlandsThe hotel is actually quite old. It looks better on the pictures than in real life. The basics are not good: curtains dusty, toilet old, sockets slow, and the worst are the towels which are horrible (looks like table cloth + does not dry you at all). Room was not super clean. The staff is helpful but the guy at the reception really was not welcoming. Taxi charge to airport is very high.
The location of the hotel is very good and convenient. The view of the room is nice. The bed is comfortable. The AC works well.

BahrainAlthough the cleanliness was definitely acceptable, I would say smaller attention to detail such as around doors, corners, windows and shower head etc could be cleaner. It was fine for our standards but it does detract from the luxury feel a bit if that's what you're looking for. Very minor though!
Excellent location, staff attentive and friendly. Lovely bar on the roof and great breakfast. Rooms are beautifully decorated and bed is very comfortable. We were delayed a few hours through immigration and our taxi driver waited for us and got us to the hotel safely! It didn't bother us but if you're a light sleeper, the sea view rooms with balcony are quite noisy at night as it's a very popular sea front location. Definitely recommend! Thank you!

AustraliaThe hotel could have been rated higher if more details go into cleaning. There was a hair in the shower, bed sheet didn't look clean (it might just be old) and the top cabinets in the bathroom were dusty. These are minor but I did sleep with my sleeping bag liner.
Friendly staff, good service, nice room and good location.

NetherlandsOur room was right next to the reception, where throughout the night we could hear exactly what was being said at the reception. It felt like we had no privacy at all. The towels were old and hard and there were some stains in the bedsheets.
The location is really good.

United StatesQueries to the hotel via booking.com prior to check-in were never responded to. The man at the front desk was quite brusque and made us feel like we were bothering him by checking in. The staff member who took us to our room never bothered to show us that all the controls for the lights and the fan were hidden behind the bed pillows. We asked for additional hangers to supplement the 3 that were in the room but never received them in the 4 days we were there. (An iron and dishes and cutlery were provided promptly upon request.) But the worst of all was the quality of the towels. In all my years of traveling, I have never seen such thin, worn out, rough towels - not even at hotels costing $18 a night. They were so worn they were almost see-through. Paper towels might have done a better job of drying us off! On the first day, the bathroom had just 2 bath towels. The next day, they added a bath mat but took it away the following day. On the fourth day, we finally got 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel and a bath mat. They also only supplied minimal toiletries (no shampoo) and no extra toilet tissue. We only visited the rooftop cafe twice, as it was too hot during the day and there was not much to see at night. We found it better to walk along the harbor or eat at the restaurant at the hotel next door. The staff also has offices off the corridor where they smoke so if you don't like the smell of smoke, you might want to stay elsewhere.
This hotel, on just one floor with less than 20 guest rooms, is well-designed with spacious rooms, modern bathrooms and good furnishings. It must have been great when it first opened but it seems to be run by people with a lack of understanding of hospitality who have not kept it up as well as one would expect for a place advertised as a "luxury boutique hotel".

AustraliaThe condition of the room is very poor. On arrival I notified the male on reception that the velvet bed frame and decorator furniture was heavily stained and dirty. He didn’t stand up but sent a young boy in to look - it needs replacement , what could he do but remove it? There was no action taken or further comment from the person on reception. The sheets on the bed are 2 single sheets laid horizontally so they separate while you sleep to expose the mattress protector. The mattress protector is heavily stained with brown marks whose origin I would hate to imagine. The bathroom door does not close at all for privacy- it is stuck open. The bathroom ceiling is covered in mould. The towels are threadbare to the point of having holes in them. The window blinds in the bedroom are filthy with dust and mould. The small balcony off the room looks to never have been cleaned or wiped over - very uninviting area for that reason. The reception staff did not welcome us on arrival and continued to ignore us for our entire 3 day stay. There is no care shown here either for our person or the building they are promoting. This is not a luxury boutique stay. It is dirty and if I could have afforded it I would have left 10 minutes after I arrived. The room has the potential to be lovely but it has been left to decay. We had breakfast once in the upstairs cafe. Very basic food and again little idea of expectations of service from the staff. The velvet chairs again heavily stained and very offensive.
